When Gary, who was an experienced head system burst out in panic like that, even Theo was slightly taken aback.

Theo calmly closed the book in his hands and looked at the floor-to-ceiling window that led to a balcony not far from the bed. 

His voice was slightly cold as he asked Gary in his mind.

The 'us' here, of course, referred to Isabella's host and Theo himself. 

Gary quickly shook his monocle body and replied solemnly.
