No. He could not do that to Violet. Maybe he has done many scheming steps toward her, but doing something extreme that Violet would hate him even more and would only push her away even further. He has already learned from his mistakes in the past. 

Violet is his precious treasure. His methods before are full of stupidity. He should not do something stupid again. He wanted to melt her heart and win her love. Then, he must work hard to please her and show that he is sincere. 

Indeed, he always compared himself and his achievements to every man around Violet. But the real achievement he would cherish his entire life is she as his wife.

Just then, he could be proud that finally, this woman became his, and that would be forever. And through eternity, he would continue loving her. It is really what he wanted in this world.
