Marion regretted having agreed to meet William because almost an hour had passed and not a single sentence was spoken by the man.
Of course, William didn't want to say anything. He wanted to read the girl's thoughts for himself, but unfortunately, he couldn't see what Marion was thinking. This was the first time this had happened, he usually would have guessed what the people around him were thinking.
This is really weird.
"What exactly do you want to talk about, Mr. Reynz, just say it. You don't want your time to be wasted, do you?" Pointed to Marion, who was getting impatient with William's current silence.
Instead of speaking, the man handed her the same contract, which Marion guessed must have contained points he hadn't revised at all.
"What's this?" Stupid questions just slipped from Marion's tongue, even though she already knew what was written on the papers.
"The contract the other day, of course."
Marion huffed in annoyance. "Mr. Reynz, what exactly is your aim? Can't you easily find a replacement for me? Why should I?"
William didn't seem to want to lower his ego which was clearly read by Marion. He just got higher, intending to make Marion feel intimidated. Unfortunately, what William did was a wasted effort.
"You want to know the answer?"
Marion nodded.
"One, I've chosen you. Two, I don't like rejection. Three, even if you don't sign the letter, you're already registered as my assistant, so get back to work!"
Hearing William's explanation that sounded forced, Marion rose from her place. Staring sharply at the man who was now following what she was doing. He stood up and faced the girl.
"If there's no need for this contract, then why did you come and bring it to me? Go! I already told you I'm not coming back."
Hearing the answer that came out of the stubborn girl's mouth, William just sighed, holding back the anger that was starting to overwhelm his heart. He had lost his mind to bring Marion back to work.
He doesn't know if it's the wrong way, or if the girl is stubborn, so she doesn't care about William's pleas anymore.
Although indeed, what William said didn't sound like a plea at all but rather a deliberate display of his power in order to extort Marion's respect. However, Marion shouldn't have behaved like that towards him, right?
That girl is really brave.
Ange was right, this girl was different from most women he'd ever known, who would squirm and cling to him like a caterpillar in a leaf, hoping William would tear their clothes off and make them scream out the pleasure he gave them.
Marion wasn't like that at all. It was William who seemed to want to stick with her because the girl's scent was too tempting for him.
"Okay... I'm sorry if you misunderstood all of this. But please, Marion, get back to work. You wouldn't know what this job was like if you hadn't done it, would you?" This time, heard the pleas that spoke by the man. whether it is willingly or not.
However, it seemed that it was enough to make Marion think.
"Marion ...."
Marion felt uncertain about her current condition. What William is offering—regarding jobs, salary offers, facilities, and others is clearly tempting. And if it was true that the job wasn't as bad as she thought, then wouldn't it be a loss for her to let it go?
Isn't it clear, that there is an article which states that there should be no physical contact except upon mutual consent?
However, what about other chapters and points?
What about the impressive point that she would be like William's mistress?
What about it?
Is Marion ready for it all?
Marion shook her head vigorously. She didn't even dare to imagine William would be so depraved. Really, the look of a man who was ten years her senior was indeed worthy of being called don Juan. What's more, if everybody knew how he looked at the party he held every 14th or 15th—he and his friends would get together, drink, choose any girl they wanted, then fuck them with all the way they wanted—made Marion's hairs grow.
It was as if the world was in his hands.
However, that was all what she heard by word of mouth.
That sometimes made Marion sick. Even though no one had seen William directly, either because the man didn't want to show himself or they just weren't very updated about their boss, the news they heard actually managed to influence Marion's perspective on the man.
"Besides, you owe me an apology, right? You already threw up on my clothes by then."
William's words succeeded in re-opening Marion's memories of the night which at the same time brought her memory of the steamy night between her and a man she did not know, until now.
Again ... that memory.
"Uhm ... that ... I'm sorry, sir. You know I was drunk at the time, right? And I already apologized, didn't I?"
Indeed, even Marion had given many things as a form of apology. However, the problem this time was that William didn't want to let Marion off the hook.
More precisely, he can't.
There were many things that not only came to Marion's memory but also William's in the few days since Marion had disappeared from the office.
Regarding the reason he accepted Marion without selection was because he had known from the start that the girl had been chosen as a candidate for the position he offered.
William could see what was going to happen, though he had failed to read the girl's head.
About their steamy night that he really can't forget.
Regarding how seductive Marion's scent is and its influence on William, which until now cannot be lost. Although he didn't want to admit it in front of her, he couldn't deny his heart.
About many other things.
Even if they weren't as tense as they are now, William could guarantee that he would have pounced on Marion and channeled his passion into her. Right now.
It was a tremendous temptation for him. And refraining from touching the girl required just as much effort.
"I've forgiven you, but that doesn't mean you can just go free. I'm not a man who easily lets go of problems as if they never happened," added William between his and Marion who were waiting for another sentence from him.
"You're cruel!"
"Whatever. You just choose, go back to work, or I will continue to disturb your life until you can never be live your life."
Marion looked at William with a glare. She didn't expect the man in front of her to be this cruel to her.
"Did you do this to other women too?" the girl asked. William didn't answer right away but took a few steps closer to Marion.
"Didn't I say I'm the picky type? Not all women can get your place, or get treated like you." The man paused, staring at Marion's hazel irises. "Think of it as a privilege I only gave you. Get back to work. I'll be waiting for you tomorrow."
The man was no longer waiting for Marion to confirm or even deny his request. He spun around, then left Marion with a rage that scratched her heart.
All the swearing she uttered escaped from her tongue to satisfy the annoyance that had haunted her since her first meeting with the man.
However, not only William did feel a strange urge in him, but Marion also felt the same thing every time she was near William. No one had ever given her the sensation she felt right now.
Marion tried to dispel any thoughts that came to her mind. This isn't the right time to think of that feeling as an attraction, because in fact she still harbors annoyance towards the man and is also disgusted, so she doesn't want to meet him. However, it may have to, even with all the compulsion.
Let's just say it's for her father's treatment.
Marion stared at William's back which was moving away. Even though he had disappeared from Marion's sight, the aura of the man's arrogance and dominance seemed to linger and surround Marion at this time, making her feel strange and uncomfortable palpitations.
Fuck you, Jerk CEO!
