Neveah was tossed back, crashing harshly into a pillar.
"Veah!" Menarx exclaimed, he moved in a flash and was by Neveah's side the next moment.
Neveah groaned in pain, a ringing sound echoing through her head as she struggled up to her feet, leaning against Menarx for support.
"That was one hell of a consequence." Neveah grumbled, she lifted a hand to her head, not surprised to feel a sticky substance she knew was her blood.
"You're hurt..." Menarx asserted in a low tone.
"She's quite powerful." Neveah admitted, patting Menarx's arm reassuringly.
Neveah spared a glance around the hall, realizing she, Davina, Lord Rodrick and a few others standing too close were the only ones who had been hit by Lady Adrienne's outburst.
The rest of the council, the king's guard and King Jian himself were completely untouched, though Neveah had a feeling King Jian would still be untouched even if he had been as close to Adrienne as she had.
