บท 385: Dark Memories (Ch.385)

Menarx's right hand moved to stroke Neveah's hair in a slow, calming manner.

He was patient and did not push for Neveah to say anymore, even though Neveah could practically sense his deep concern and rage.

"Do you really want us to go down this path?" Neveah asked, glancing up at Menarx.

"Only if you're comfortable with it. I can wait, I always will." Menarx assured.

Neveah sighed quietly, there was so much she was not ready to talk about, things Neveah did not think she would ever be ready to speak of.

But Neveah did want to share something with Menarx, something she had never told anyone... something that would make him truly understand the kind of life she had lived.

"I still remember the very first time I killed a man, as vivid as though it was just yesterday." Neveah began after a long silence.

"I had just turned fourteen and my fath... Lothaire threw a large ball in my honor, to celebrate his daughter and introduce me to society."
