Her sickness must have something to do with her heart. 

Lucien did not know the specifics but the priest concluded that for his daughter to get better, he will extract the hearts of those children he acquianted in the modern world and try to replace her heart with theirs….

In science and medical sense, this is impossible. But what if the priest borrowed the djinns magic to complete this task? Lucien's head was hung down as he recalled these plot points of this instance game. 

From the very start, it wasn't about the groom and bride at all. The center of this instance game is the BOSS. Every character revolved around her. And she's the only person who get to survive out of this mansion. 

Lucien was standing still for a few more minutes before betting against fate. He glance down at his crescent blade and the recent card he just acquired. A plan formulated in his heart.
