"So it's kind of my friend's birthday today," In Ha began to explain when she saw the look on his face. The hot stranger was beginning to lose interest and she had to do something quick.
"And her wish, well, our wish is to get laid," In Ha confessed, hoping that was enough to get him hooked.
"So why couldn't she do the talking by herself?" He asked her.
"Huh?"
"She's the one who wants to get laid, shouldn't she make the effort?" He asked, having a negative view of Rachel already before they even started.
"Well, she could but she's kind of a virgin, and getting men is not her forte...." In Ha trailed off, hoping that he got the point.
"It's yours," He figured it out, his gaze washing over In Ha in such a way that made her slightly uncomfortable.
"Look," She straightened up, "I get it if you don't want to do something like that but Rachel's our friend, and it was in our good thought that we wanted her to have fun. It's her birthday after all, and what better way to celebrate it than in bed? " she grinned at him knowingly.
But when he gave her a blank stare and didn't respond, In Ha told him," You know, you don't have to do it. No one's forcing you, I'm not. Moreover, I'm the one in the bad for disturbing your peace of mind. However, I sincerely hope you get to know Rachel even for a minute before you make your decision."
There was total silence between them until he snuck out his hand saying, "Christian."
In Ha looked at his hand and smiled, "Chae In Ha, but my friends, for the sake of not biting their tongue off, call me Hana." She enveloped his hand with her smaller palm, shaking him.
"Hana, then. I wouldn't risk biting off my tongue as well," He joked and both of them laughed.
"And by the way," He told her, "I didn't have my heart broken. It was death. It took someone precious to me. A friend."
"Oh." In Ha gasped, the handshake slowing down till their hands separated, "I'm so sorry for your loss. I really am."
"Oh, it's alright, you don't have to be apologetic," He chortled, "It's not like you were the one who took his life."
"Yeah," In Ha agreed with him, "However, it's common courtesy to be sympathetic to a life loss,"
"In that case, that's enough sympathy. You were right, I truly need to release some pent-up emotions, and what better way to do so than in bed. And you don't have to worry about your friend, I'll make it enjoyable and memorable for her, you have nothing to worry about. " He assured her.
"Aww, thank you." In Ha was touched by his kind gesture. It seems Rachel made a nice choice in the end.
Finishing his drink, the both of them headed up to their booth, and even from afar, In Ha could see that Rachel was a bundle of nerves. Girl loosen up, it was not like he was going to eat her up. Well, he would do that later. It was on the menu.
Christian might look gentle but In Ha could read people and she knew beneath that front, the man would devour her friend. But then, that was what Rachel needed, an unforgettable experience. She had a very good feeling about this night.
"And there they are. The whole gang," In Ha brought him to their table and began to introduce her friends one after the other.
"That's Allison, Helen, Gwen, and your wonderful date for the night, Rachel,"
"Hi, I'm Christian,"
"Hi Christian," The girls chorused all except Rachel who looked like she would faint any moment. In Ha hoped she didn't really do that, else it would be so embarrassing - and dramatic. She wasn't looking for drama in a club of all places.
Suddenly, Christian moved forward till he was standing in front of Rachel and stretched his hand, "Hi, Rachel, I'm Christian."
"H-hi, Christian. I-I Rachel," She managed to say without fainting, thankfully.
But Christian took her hand and kissed the top of her hand earning a harmonious, "Aww," from everyone in that booth while Rachel looked so red in the face that she might as well have exploded at that spot.
Christian was quite a charmer because he got Rachel to relax and get comfortable around him in a few minutes. The both of them began to chat like estranged lovers who just reunited and couldn't wait to catch up on things until Helen suggested they went down to the dance floor.
"You can't come to a club without actually making use of the dance floor. That is like abuse of its purpose," She argued and the next they knew, everyone was down and dancing their stress away.
A lot of guys approached In Ha to have a good time, even ones hotter than Christian, but she chased them away. Tonight was not about her or the others but Rachel. She promised to keep an eye on her and give her a good time. Hence, In Ha had fun but didn't get carried away with it at least until they got home.
They continued their party with lots of drinks when they arrived at Rachel's place. Her house was really huge, you could even call it a castle and there were no parents to fear since they hardly came home. Rachel could proudly count the number of times she met her parents in a year.
While they partied, it wasn't long before Christian and Rachel snuck into her room and they didn't need to guess what would happen afterward.
"Bitch is about to have the best time of her life," Helen grinned, almost toasting a drink to them. She was completely wasted.
"Yeah, Rachel would be a changed woman, come tomorrow." Allison supported her.
"A night of bliss," Gewn breathed but In Ha heard her clearly and for some reason, it left a bitter taste in her mouth. Because while Rachel would be having a wonderful first time, her own case hadn't been the same.
No, it had been the beginning of her terror.
