Vanessa dragged the bastard along.

The sounds of screams from the others came screeching into our ears. They were surprised too at the sudden intruders. How to say it though, their  screams seemed clumsy, as if they never ever believed there to be intruders.

"OH!?" Vanessa's voice reached my ears. I and Aki exchanged glances and decided against picking up our pace. "Aren't you the bozo that was at the city gate?"

"No way! Those guy's? The house should have exploded and burnt to the ground!"
