I whistled and grooved from side to side. Vanessa sighed as she followed along, but she mostly tried to tap her heels on the ground in beat. The powerful stench of the sewers dialed down the closer we got to the hideout Yasumichi had marked for me.
"Awawa!!"
"Run!"
Odd sounds reached our ears and only increased in volume. I turned to Vanessa, who had tilted her head in puzzlement.
"What's that? Can you tell how many people are ahead?"
"Seven, I think?" She replied. Her scowl had mostly softened out, but she still seemed a bit angry. I knew this girl wouldn't keep this attitude up for too long. The voices suddenly cut off when we reached a sharp turn. Behind it was the hideout the four employees of Beacon had set up. I beckoned Vanessa to continue and walked past the turn—
"What... what are you guys doing?"
Glad to see someone reading these! Hope you all are having a great day!
