บท 51: Seeming Mundanity

Eros woke up to the scent of smoke and something burned. Alarmed, he quickly got up, only to stumble over his backpack at the foot of the mattress. 

Feeling like an idiot, the angel patted his hurting nose. The smoke seemed to worsen as his eyes welled up. With a little more care, Eros hurried out. 

He was able to trace the issue back to the kitchen, which relieved and worried him at the same time. Eros carefully peeked around the corner to see Coral airing out a smoldering frying pan. On the kitchen counter lay some broken egg shells and a stick of butter. 

"What are you trying to do? Smoke us like sausages?" The angel leaned against the doorframe. 

Coral uttered a surprised shriek, nearly dropping the pan in the process. Once she was able to calm down, she turned around to face him. 

"I… I was trying to scramble eggs for you, but as you can see, I failed miserably."
