บท 5: Back Home(Rewritten.)

After Baraqiel teleported home with all three kids, Shuri was already waiting by the porch. It was very rare that they left her alone for too long as Kurayami and Akeno still loved to spend time with their mother.

Kurayami and Akeno walked toward her and were quickly wrapped up in a hug. Shuri was a very loving Wife and Mother and her first thoughts was on how they were after their training.

"I am glad you are back safe and sound."

Just then, she noticed that Akeno had her hand bandaged and slightly bloody. As for Kurayami, he proudly showed off the three holes Rebellion had left in his hand. They were slowly closing, but they were still visible.

Barely holding back her concern she glared at her husband as he was supposed to keep an eye on them. How did they get so hurt that they had holes in their hands?

"What happened to their hands?"

Baraqiel raised his hands in worry as it was not his fault. And he just had the perfect way to appease her for a moment to explain himself.

"Wait, before I explain that I want you to meet someone."

Baraqiel gently pushed Raynare forward which made Shuri stop. She looked at the small girl in front of her who had no idea what to say. Kurayami was the one who introduced Raynare as from what he could read from her aura, she was far too shy to say even her name.

"That is Raynare. She is from the orphanage and is like us. Half Human."

Akeno nodded with a teasing smile.

"Kurayami finally got a friend."

Kyurayami ignored her teasing and with his blank look defended himself.

"I do have a friend, Azazel"

Shuri shook her head with a sigh.

"That I don't get, how is Azazel your only friend? At least you have a child friend now."

"I guess."

At that point, Raynare hid behind him and looked over his shoulder. For a 8-year-old he was quite tall as he was already 5 foot. She waved a little at Shuri not sure what to say.

Baraqiel sighed as he now got to explain what happened.

"As you heard from Kurayami she is from the orphanage and Azazel asked if she could stay with us as her family passed already. As for the injuries in the children's hands, they come from the experimental weapons Azazel made for them.

Whatever magic Azazel used gave them a limited sentience and they took some blood to bind themselves."

Shuri was going to ask about that later as she was interested in what thing Azazel cooked up now. But first, she focused on Raynare.

"Can you come here for a moment? I won't send you away."

Kurayami turned around to look at Raynare and nodded. That gave her the push to walk from behind him over to Shuri. She was going to bow and ask to stay in exchange for doing chores, but Shuri got her in a tight hug.

"You don't have to be nervous, and you can absolutely stay here. My name is Shuri Himejima the mother of Kurayami and Akeno."

Raynare smiled a little and hugged her back.

"Thank you."

"Of course. By the way, be careful of Akeno. She has a habit of trying to eat her brother like a prime-grade steak."

Akeno blushed bright red at her little habit being revealed.

'Why does everyone need to know?'

She just thought it, but Kurayami heard her. When he was reincarnated to this world, his special soul had mutated Akeno's greatly. On top of being twins which was very special in the Supernatural world, they had a profound connection deeper than most.

'Because it's funny.'

Akeno frowned as she communicated with her brother through their hidden connection.

'But it's embarrassing.'

'Then stop doing it.'

'It's not that easy.'

'Sure it is, wear a mouthguard.'

'Rude.'

'Cannibal.'

"I am not a canibal."

Baraqiel was not so sure as he remembered when Kurayami and Akeno were little. She ended up bitting on Kurayami's shoulder which caused Baraqiel to pry her jaws open to free his

When Shuri and Baraqiel saw his shoulder they gave him his own bed to keep him safe. Either way, once she had Raynare settled down she walked toward Kurayami. She held his face and looked into his eyes.

She checked them every day to see if they changed at all. She frowned when she saw they looked darker than usual. The shadow of the violet of his eyes spoke more than his face did. The darker they got the more agitated he was.

"Did anything else happen?"

"Me and Kokabiel talked. We left not on good terms."

Baraqiel frowned at those words.

"What did he say?"

Kurayami shook his head.

"It's Kokabiel, that I am a half-breed and a scourge on Grigori. I plan to take care of him someday."

Baraqiel sighed as Kobiel never changed. Shuri was worried as she knew that Kokabiel was a Cadre, but she knew Kurayami had a Longinus. As such, she decided to not say a thing. She had to put faith in him.

"Well let's not sit around outside. let's go inside."

They all went into the house and smelled the food. Raynare began to drool when she smelled it. At the orphanage the food was good, but it was not like Shuri's home-cooked meal.

When Shuri saw Raynare's look she also felt a little pity. No matter how good the orphanage was, it was after all a military orphanage. The kids were destined to join the war effort of Grigori to prepare for a possible war.

At the moment, three factions were in a shotty cease-fire. There was no treaty so a war could break out at even the slightest threat. She even knew that Kurayami and Akneo would be forced to join the war effort, but it was one of the prices for being the children of high-ranking Fallen.

"All of you wash your hands. Can't have you eating with dirty hands."

They all went to wash their hands while Akeno wanted to show off her spear. He had not gotten a good look at it so she summoned it. She still had not come up with a name for it, but she was thinking.

"What do you think?"

"I think Azazel did a great job and all you got to do is master it."

He looked at the spear that looked rather large in her hands. She was taller than most 8-year-olds due to her heritage, but male fallen were taller.

"It also works as a way to channel my magic better. Like a staff."

"A way to mix the speed and lethality of a spear with a mage's staff. I can see the use in such a thing."

Akeno was going to say more, but their mother found them. She had a rule of no weapons out of their sheaths in the house.

"Kurayami, Akneno, put those away please."

At that moment both weapons dispersed into mana and entered their arms which confused her.

"That's neat."

Baraqiel nodded.

"Quite so, also those were the weapons that caused the holes in their hands. They do not like other people touching them."

He removed his glove and showed the burn on his hand.

"Be more careful Baraqiel."

She walked back to the kitchen while they washed their hands.

'Regardless, I am glad to have you back to me Rebellion. What do you think of my new sword?'

Rebellion reared her head now that she had her new body.

'Adequate, you shall need to forge it once more Master like you did for me.'

He had forged Rebellion's original body by hand which caused his aura to merge with the metal. But she barely cared as long as she was not touched by anyone else. As for Submission, the sword Azazel made for him was still a lump of metal.

He had not killed enough or let the sword be exposed to his aura for long. In this world of magic, he wanted to further Master himself and learn more about why he was the way he was.

As he ate he was amazed at how good his mother's cooking was. When he was with Harold he mostly ate the equivalent of MREs. When Raynare ate it she began to cry. It had been a long time since she ate home-cooked meals. Her mother was a good cook and loved to see her husband and daughter eating happily.

They all looked at her and knowing she was an orphan it probably reminded her of home. She smiled and kept eating.

"It's great."

Shuri smiled knowing that it made her happy. She looked at her son and noticed the shade of his eyes turn a brighter violet. Over the 8 years of his life, she had learned that the brighter they were the happier he was and the darker they were the madder he was.

It seemed his body had reacted to his limited facial expressions to compensate. Getting him to smile was hard, so this was nice to see. Every time she saw that she knew she did something right.

As for Baraqiel he too loved his wife's food as it always was good for his soul. When they all finished eating Kurayami decided to sleep in his room. Akeno got that and stayed in her own room so as to not bite anyone.

As for Raynare, she got set up in the guest room where she felt happy. She was out of the orphanage where the other kids treated her as a murder. She zoned those dark thoughts out and tried to get to sleep.

Meanwhile, Shuri and Baraqiel were talking about something serious. Something they did not want to air out to their kids, but Kurayami seemed to know.

"Shuri. Kurayami heard us when during our intimate times."

She looked horrified at the idea.

"When?"

"The night your Uncle came to the house."

She looked embarrassed hearing those words.

"You know he and Azazel talk, and Kurayami is mature. He knows."

She looked like she wanted to die of shame.

"Should we talk to him about this?"

She raked her brain for an answer, but no answer came to mind. In the end, they decided to just sound proof their room and act as if it never happened. As for Kurayami, he was in his room sitting in bed with his sword, Submission.

It had been forged by Azazel when he was 5, and over the past three years, it had begun to absorb his Mana. Through that, his special soul began to mutate the metal and slowly build consciousness within the blade.

At the moment it was a small ember, but every night Kurayami did this. He placed the sword on his lap and used his lightning, fire, and especially his Death mana to temper the blade. All threw coursed through the sword causing the metal to be exposed to two polar opposites.

Holy energies and Death are polar opposites. As a result, the metal began to turn a dark grey as it fed. He did this for 4 hours when he felt the sword had enough. He returned it to its sheath and laid down with the sword hugged in his arms.

After three decades of battle, unless he slept with a sword in hand he felt uneasy. It was also a good day to expose the blade to his natural mana. When he woke up in another 4 hours he got dressed.

He placed Submission on his back and walked out of his room. As he did so, Akeno also left her room at almost the same time as him. She looked at him with a frown as she could feel he did not sleep.

"You did it again?"

"It's fine."

"You need more sleep."

"I am fine."

"If you say so."

As he walked Rebellion called out to him.

'I remember when you would do the same with me. You would never sleep without me in your arms.'

'Can you blame me?'

'I do not Master. Do as you need?'

Not long after everyone woke up soon after everyone gathered for breakfast. His mother and father looked at him weirdly but did not bring up their concerns. If he did not speak about it, they wouldn't do it either.

After breakfast with everyone, Kurayami left the house to the open field they had away from the house. Once he was here, he placed Submission on his lap, but not to do his tempering.

Instead, his mana moved as he activated his Sacred Gear. The holy flames of Incinerate Anthem coated his entire left side, while Holy Lightning thundered from his right.

In the middle, an orb of Death Mana floated as he tried to use it to fuse all three together. But fusing them was proving to be impossibly hard as Holy and Negative Energy were not supposed to mix.

Only his will was keeping it mildly restrained. He was alone at the moment as he did not want his concentration to be affected by anyone else. He held his hands out as he tried to force a fusion, but he just felt the three energies about to explode.

To not deal with the explosion he blasted it into the sky where it blew up. He breathed out as he wondered what he was doing wrong. As he was thinking he heard two sets of footsteps.

He turned around and saw Akeno and Raynare walking together.

"What is it?"

Akeno talked to him first.

"We also wanted to use the field."

This field had been warded slightly by Baraqiel to contain rampant Mana.

"Sure. Go ahead."

Raynare walked away from the both of them while Akeno did the same. She knew her brother the best and he wanted to be undisturbed right now. Once they were far from each other, Raynare sat down.

She calmed her nerves as she began to use her Sacred Gear. Dark black flames burned around her as she tried to control them. If she was not careful those around her could be hurt so she kept her distance. Already, these flames were proving that they were fickle and not easy to control.

As for Akeno, She brought out her spear and began to train her magic circles. She was young so her magic abilities were still rather limited, but practice makes perfect. To make it harder she had floating fireballs float around her.

She still wanted sacred gear in the future as she did not want to be left behind. Her parents didn't want her to know how it was done as the one who lost their sacred gear would die. It was why they kept Kurayami from telling her.

As for Kurayami, he knew because Azazel told him. He thought to get an evil person's sacred gear and give it to her, but what can he do at this moment? Everything would come into place when he got older as there were limits to what he could do.

He was after all going to become the next Governor-General in the end.

After a few minutes of trying to get his fire and lightning to fuse, he gave up for the day. Raynare also stopped using her flames as she felt exhausted. In the meantime, he summoned Rebellion and drew Submission from its sheath.

Once his swords were in his hands he began to picture the night he died. That battlefield where he began to fight the phantoms of his past. Akeno did the same with her new spear.

Raynare also had her training given to her by Azazel and he recommended she try to use strength training as sacred gears needed stamina. If anything her talent was comparable to Kurayami as her grandfather was in the top ten words strongest. He was the strongest Angel ever, Fallen or not. Even more so when Heaven tried to hide why he fell.

For now, they would have to wait for him to show himself up as he had to be around. Someone that strong does not just die for no reason. After a while, Baraqiel came out and helped them train.

He had Akeno and Kurayami attack him with their weapons so he could get them to learn to use their weapons better. He also gave pointers to Kurayami who was a swordsman, but for Akeno he gave her the advice he had.

More so he also helped them with their lightning abilities and the ability to make spears of light. Kurayami could make up to 50 and make them burn or strike with lightning. Akeno had a lower count at 30, but she still was doing well.

Kurayami had high expectations placed on him as an Anti-devil trump card. It was like he was made to kill devils with him controlling two weapons that went against their nature. When he reached his full potential, no Devil would be his foe.

While Azazel wanted peace, if he had to he would go to war. Kurayami could be a big part of Grigori in any war. More so against the devils, but he planned to avoid that at all costs. Which was why he was trying to keep Kurayami a secret.

Any of the three factions controlling a Longinous could tip the balance. They just might try to kill him early. Azazel would not allow a thing to happen to his replacement. If he wanted to retire he had to have someone powerful o take over. Who better than Kurayami.
