Oh, the name's Peng Tian btw.
Anyways, after that nervous breakdown, I found a nice cozy cave to sleep in, the magic cube first needed me to fall asleep to work anyways, so win win am I right?
And while it might be dangerous for a mortal like me to leave myself unprotected like this, Lin Ming himself has no objections to sleeping in the wilds as a first realm of the Body Training Stage. So how dangerous could it be? Not to mention, I seemed to have a bit of strength resulting from my saiyan physique.
After I slept, I dreamt of a resplendent palace made of jade, groups of beautiful beauties shuttled around the palace.
At this moment, the scenery suddenly transformed and the resplendent palace collapsed. Countless figures had appeared in the skies above. From amongst the countless figures, streams of light shot out. When it descended upon the lands, it caused the lands and mountains to be decimated!
After that, the scene changed and turned into a world of snow and ice. A frightened looking Mu Qianxue held onto a one cubic inch cube, facing off against ten thousand figures standing on the skies. The Magic Cube within Mu Qianxue's palm was seemingly condensing a horrifying amount of power.
[A/N: Btw, should I call her Mu Qianxue or Mo Eversnow? I need some input for this.]
"Using my soul as the guide, I shall avail myself to the power of God, Soul Extermination!"
Mu Qianxue spat out those words in a cold and clear manner before an explosion flashed before my eyes.
*BOOOM*
I was then transported into an incredibly large and dark space. Here, various specks of light hovered in suspension, resembling pieces of broken mirror. The various specks were of varying sizes, some big and some small. The bigger ones were as big as a watermelon, while the smaller ones were only as big as a green pea. In the middle of all those specks of light, there was a sphere of light that was Mu Qianxue's soul.
I focused my eyes and peered into the dark space that was littered with countless specks of light. The smallest and closest one stood out to me as it should be the one with Chaotic Virtues Combat Meridians.
Wait, didn't the original novel stated that it was about the size of a grain of rice?....Meh, I probably just remembered it wrong.
It also wasn't a coincidence that the easiest one to obtain was also the most useful to me at the moment. Mu Qianxue should be testing me to see if I can persevere on the Body Transformation path, if so, she can impart me the Celestial Tyrant Manual.
The thing was, the Chaotic Virtues Combat Meridians was said to be the pinnacle Physical Training Manual in the current era of the Divine Realm. Even so, it could only allow the learner to reach the Eight Inner Hidden Gates. Right, makes sense, Humanity's Nine Stars of the Dao Palace's destiny was swallowed by Famine, leaving Humanity's with no further paths after the Eight Inner Hidden Gates.
And? Well, Lin Ming, the MC himself, was only able to contend with Late Divine Lords after he opened the last gate, the Gate of Death. So, why did Mu Qianxue, a half-step World King, use the Magic Cube against the Owner of the Chaotic Virtues Combat Meridians, a person, who at most, was on the same level of an early-level Divine Lord? Where did this soul come from?
In the final battle against Tian Mingzi, Ten thousand masters, all of which were at least Peak Divine Lords, were summoned to fight against her, was he perhaps one of them? Perhaps he just cultivated Body Transformation on the side?
I didn't think so.
The soul fragment in front of me was weak, very weak. A Peak Divine Lord realm cultivator must have at least reached Gold Battle Spirit unless he wants to be slapped around by his own children. So why?
After a while, I still wasn't able to come up with a good answer.
I sighed. It wasn't just me being curious, I was about to absorb a huge amount of memories after all. I was trying to look at it from the third person perspective as much as I can to reduce the chances of me losing myself. I could only hope that my past life as an eighteen-year-old would be enough to get me through.
After hesitating for some more, I finally extended my hand and gently touched the speck of light.
Upon contact, the speck of light instantly flowed into my fingertip. I had no time to respond at all, as my head felt as though a heavy hammer had suddenly struck down on it viciously. I let out a whimper and fell to the ground.
I tightly gripped my head; I could feel there was something desperately invading my mind. The piercing pain caused me to wish I could crack open my skull and remove whatever was causing the pain!
I was about to be swallowed up!
That is it! This must be the soul fragment's instinctive nature; it is trying to devour my sea of consciousness!
Various disorderly images flowed into my sea of consciousness, causing me to undergo an inhuman amount of pain, threatening to render me unconscious. My limbs were failing to function as I experienced what I could only describe as a sensory overload.
A feeling I didn't want to acknowledge creped up on me.
I'm losing.
Ah.
What am I doing here?
I was just trying to survive, in turn, I've thrown myself into the most painful situation in my entire life. I could've just given the Magic Cube to Lin Ming, let it be his problem. But no, I've just got to try and be more special ain't I. This isn't even my story anyways, let Lin Ming go save humanity for all I care. With my saiyan physique, I could've lived a good life, find myself a hiding place when the South Sea Demon Region inevitably took over, and let Lin Ming deal with all the other bullshit.
Haa.
I could feel the cold tears leaking out of my eyes.
Who even am I again? I felt my life was a bit misplaced somehow.
Let's see… my life huh?...
…
…Ah, yes, I do remember my first successful inscription, that simple fire rune was quite tough for me at the time gwahahaha. I can still remember my Master's face as if it just occured today. It was enough to make my master become so proud of an incompetent fool like myself. That was such a simple yet fulfilling life, living with my senior brothers, all of us trying to continue our master's legacy. In the end, master was just too talented in everything. We had to divide his teachings into separate fields, Eldest brother became an array master, Second brother took to become an Refiner, while brother Meng tried his best in the inscription field.
I dabbled into all three professions before finally finding my path as a Body refiner.
The day Master died, he left us with recommendations for the Verdant Feather Holy Lands, we couldn't believe such a fact for a while. What happened next though is what shocked me.
None of my senior brothers was willing to take it, saying that it was a test from master, and that we should go find our own adventures. I couldn't believe what I heard. Like an immature child being betrayed, I lashed out to admonish them for even thinking about wasting the opportunity that master had given us. I swore to never talk to them again, thinking their minds have degraded to the level of toddlers.
Out of all of us four disciples, I was the strongest by far in terms of combat power, able to contend with Peak Divine Transformation masters. The second strongest of us was Eldest brother who was at the late Divine Sea realm. I hadn't given it much thought originally, just thinking that each of us has something they're good at.
It was only after I entered the Verdant Feather Holy Lands as a deacon did I realize the scheme they had plotted.
Like a frog jumping out of a well, I was slapped by the reality of being the weakest person around. All of the other deacons with my status were at least a Divine Lord.
I also found out later that the protection array Eldest brother gave me was considered subpar. The equipments Second brother made for me was called garbage. The inscriptions brother Meng poured his heart out to make were thought to be children's doodlings.
If they had come along, it would have been a disaster and we all knew it.
That is, all except for me. I would have rather stayed with them if I had known. And so, they antagonize me into leaving, breaking apart our brotherhood just to trick me into finding a better future. Not only that, they also realized just how valuable master's inheritance was. So in the end, they chose to go into hiding to avoid potential trouble coming their way.
There was one fact that they had missed; however, was that my entrance through the backdoor didn't go unnoticed, in fact, it caused quite a huge stir in the lower levels of the sect. Both my background and master's recommendation letter were promptly investigated. They couldn't do anything to me of course, but they had also found out that the majority of master's inheritance wasn't with me, and…and...then…they….found the others…
