บท 10: The beginning of friendship
Since no one had arrived yet, Shen Xi went to the rooftop to breathe in some air and look around as well. She stood there and did not notice that time passed by slowly.
Wang Pe arrived at school and saw that Shen Xi had already arrived when she saw Shen Xi's bag but she didn't find Shen Xi. Where was she?
Shen Xi felt tired after standing for a while so she sat down with her legs crossed. She was starting to think about why she felt attracted to Lu Chai, she didn't understand why. From the first day she laid her eyes on him, she knew her heart was his.
Wang Pe had roamed about the whole school searching for Shen Xi, and she became worried.
Shen Xi got up to leave when saw a figure far from her, the figure seemed anxious as if looking for something, and as she walked closer, she recognised the person, it was Wang Pe.
"Wang Pe" she screamed the name
Wang Pe heard the familiar voice calling her and turned around to see Shen Xi approaching her.
"Shen Xi!" she exclaimed and ran towards her with tears streaming down her face.
"What's the matter? who hurt you?" Shen Xi asked and checked Wang Pe's body but didn't see any injuries.
"Nobody hurt me, I was looking for you but you were nowhere to be seen, I was scared, I thought..."
"Shhh... it's okay I'm right here okay? stop crying, you're such a crybaby" Shen Xi teased and Wang Pe let out a chuckle.
When they arrived, the classroom was noisy. Lu Chai saw her, he hesitated for a while before asking," Are you alright?"
Shen Xi was surprised that Lu Chai had taken the initiative to speak to her, she smiled weakly before responding" Yes I'm fine"
In the following days to come, Shen Xi and Lu Chai became so close then best friends, always sticking to each other.

Shen Xi held Lu Chai's hand and looked at the boy who seemed a bit nervous to meet her parents.
"Why are you so scared? my parents are kind" she smiled at him sweetly.
Shen Xi opened the door only to find both parents sitting on the sofa.
"Daddy, mommy" she pulled Lu Chai and run towards them.
"And this is?" her father asked as he looked at the handsome boy standing beside his daughter.
"Daddy this is my friend that I told you about, Lu Chai"
"Hello, aunty and uncle" Lu Chai them in a humble tone.
"I don't have a problem with you befriending my daughter, I just hope you don't hurt her because by then I wouldn't care what family you come from"
"Yes uncle"
Ning Nu could feel the tension between the two" Chaichai why don't you join us for dinner?" she invited but the little guy politely declined saying he had to go back home immediately.
