บท 32: Chapter 32: A Lesson in Fiskja

I remain in the dwarf’s hospitality for several years. Time passes by like a blur. During my stay, I am able to learn more about the dwarven language. Fiskarinn is pleased with my sense of curiosity. Despite forgetting my past, I am still able to forge new memories. With this in mind, I insist on learning what the dwarf can offer.

Unfortunately, I do seem to fail in some regards. I find myself easily distracted by the sounds outside! After in-house lessons seem to go amiss, Fiskarinn takes the class outside. Even if I catch myself watching birds from time to time, Fiskarinn is patient with me as a student.

"You know," he says one day. "You're like my tall son!"

"A good parent does teach their kids," I laugh. "It's a pleasure to know you, short father."

He chuckles along. After a moment, Fiskarinn's gaze turns towards the beach. My enthusiasm fades. 'Please don't raise that subject.' My mind searches for a distraction. Yet, my effort fails when the dwarf speaks first.
