Cayden POV
I sure have been knocked out a lot recently for someone who lived a relatively normal, unscathed life. The most recent, while I was trying to relax in the healing center.
Maverick had left due to an urgent call back to his mansion, and just as I was about to let sleep take me away from the pain, Kline burst through my door.
Safe to say, I was no match for him.
And now, I’m being potato-sack carried to Goddess knows where…after having woken up from, of course, unconsciousness.
I’ve decided it’s not really a good look for me.
Even moreso is Jasper’s ass bobbing in time with his steps.
In the muddled haze of my mind, I connect Jasper must be working with Kline, and now, getting my ass handed to me way back when is even more humiliating.
“Looks like he’s awake,” Jasper’s drawl rumbles through his back. Kline stops walking to maneuver to me, taking my chin in his hand and lifting my head.
“It won’t be a problem, will it?” he asks.
