บท 261: The mistakes
"I can see that you all are doing well" said Romanoff as he looked at everyone and his eyes landed on Natasha, her face looked better, which was a relief to him, he did not want her to have a permanent scar to her face.
"Natasha" called Romanoff as Natasha looked at him.
"Yes Commander?" asked Natasha.
"How is your face?" asked Romanoff, he had not had time to ask her or see her yesterday.
"It is fine Commander" said Natasha as she replied and Romanoff nodded his head.
"Well that is good" said Romanoff.
"The rest of you, can see how the three agents that misbehaved are" said Romanoff.
"Vicki" called Romanoff as he looked at Vicki as Vicki flinched as she looked at him and she did not say anything at all.
"I called you Vicki, did you not hear me?" asked Romanoff.
"Yes… yes Commander" said Vicki as she stuttered, she was now very scared of Romanoff, after the punishment he gave her two days ago, he actually stayed right there until she finished her push ups.
Tatiana looked at Vicki, she felt sorry for her, even though she deserved it, she and the others have noticed that Vicki had been more quiet than usual, and apart from that, she stayed away from them and Natasha, which was for her own good.
"I am sure that you learnt your lesson?" asked Romanoff.
"Yes Commander, yes, I did" said Vicki as she replied immediately, she would be stupid to not learn her lesson, her back was still aching, she could still feel those weights on her back.
"Good" said Romanoff as he smiled.
"Now, apologize to Natasha once again" said Romanoff as he smiled and Vicki hesitated, he was humiliating her, making her have to apologize to her once again.
"is something the matter?" asked Romanoff as Vicki shook her head.
"Then get on with it, we don't have all day" said Romanoff.
"I apologize Natasha" said Vicki as she got it done and over with.
"What sort of apology is that?" asked Romanoff.
"Come over here, stand in front of Natasha, bow and apologize correctly, because I am sure your parents would have taught you how to apologize properly" said Romanoff as Vicki grunted internally, this was too much, and Romanoff was going to force her to apologize just because of Natasha.
Natasha did not like where this was going, she did not see why it was necessary for Vicki to apologize to her, she was fine with the way things were, but she could not dare say anything to Romanoff, it did not look like he would listen to her anyway.
Vicki walked to where Romanoff pointed as she stood in front of Natasha and she bowed her head.
"I apologize Natasha" said Vicki.
"That is alright Vicki" said Natasha as she did not know what else to say.
"Better" said Romanoff as Vicki went back to where she was standing.
"And you two, have you settled your dispute?" asked Romanoff as he looked at Nikolai and Andrei.
"Yes Commander" said the both of them in a chorus.
"Good, that is better for you, because I do not want what happened on Monday repeating itself, am I clear?" asked Romanoff.
"Yes Commander" said Nikolai and Andrei as they both nodded their heads.
"Good, and the rest of you, learn from the mistakes of these three, and know not to do what they did" said Romanoff as the others nodded their heads.
"Now, today is going to be different, because we are done focusing on combat, if you still need to improve, do so in your own time" said Romanoff.
"We are going to focus on your shooting skills, how to use a gun" said Romanoff as he watched all of their reactions, as some of them were surprised.
"Tell me, who here has worked with a gun before? And raise your hand" said Romanoff as no one made an attempt to answer.
"Alright, let's try this again" said Romanoff as he could sense that maybe his wording was not clear anyone.
"Who here, has any experience whatsoever with a gun?" asked Romanoff as Vicki raised her hand and Natasha did as well as everyone else looked at them.
"Hmm, interesting" said Romanoff.
"So the rest of you don't have any experience with a gun?" asked Romanoff as the rest of them shook their heads.
"Alright" said Romanoff as it seemed that he would have to do some prepping with them.
"Vicki, what is your experience with a gun?" asked Romanoff as he looked at Vicki.
"I used to go hunting with my uncles" said Vicki.
"Which gun did you use for hunting?" asked Romanoff.
"A shotgun" replied Vicki.
"So you haven't used any other guns before?" asked Romanoff.
"No commander" said Vicki as she shook her head.
"Alright, and Natasha, what is your experience with a gun?" asked Romanoff as he looked at Natasha, he did know her experience with a gun, she was after all was the cause of a shootout when he went to receive a shipment.
Natasha was quiet, she was thinking of what to say, her experience with a gun was kind of complicated.
"Self-defence" said Natasha as she settled on something easy.
"I see, and you have your own gun?" asked Romanoff.
"Yes I do" said Natasha.
"Which gun?" asked Romanoff.
"A Glock 22" said Natasha.
"And you have your gun here with you?" asked Romanoff.
"Yes I do" said Natasha as she nodded her head.
"Alright then, while I prep the others on how to use a gun, you can go and get your own gun" said Romanoff as he preferred it when people used their weapons that they were most comfortable with.
"Alright Commander" said Natasha as she nodded her head.
"Alright then, enough of that, everyone stand in line, and follow me" said Romanoff as he walked out of the gym as they all stood in line to follow him as he took a turn to the right and another turn to the left as he stopped in front of another meta gate as he got a key from his pocket as he opened the gate and he walked in as he switched on the lights.
"Welcome to the shooting range" said Romanoff as Natasha was not surprised, they seemed to have a like for keeping things underground.
Everyone else looked around, they did not know that this place even existed.
"Come on now, we don't have all day" said Romanoff as Natasha realized that he liked saying that a lot.
They all followed after him as he walked through a door where there were different stalls and targets for when shooting.
"Bullet proof glass and sound proof glass" said Romanoff as he knocked on the glass as those that were not yet inside the room could not hear his knock at all.
"Well now, the rest of you, I need to train you on how to use a gun, meanwhile, Natasha, you go get your gun" said Romanoff as he looked at Natasha.
"Okay Commander" said Natasha as she nodded her head and she turned around and walked away.
"Now, to the lesson, first thing you must know about using a gun, firstly, don't hold a gun with fear, your mind will end up going through many scenarios of you doing things that you would not want to do" replied Romanoff as he had been doing this for a long time, and he knew that one problem many cadets faced was fear, and it was not good at all.
"You all hear me?" asked Romanoff.
"Yes commander" said everyone as they nodded their head.
"Now, let's get to it, listen attentively" said Romanoff as they all nodded their heads.

"You are holding your gun wrongly" said Romanoff as he looked at Andrei.
"Adjust your grip" said Romanoff as Andrei nodded his head and he changed his grip.
"Natasha, help Tatiana, she is struggling with holding her gun, and also show her how to load her gun" said Romanoff as he looked at Natasha.
"Yes Commander" said Natasha as she nodded her head and she walked to where Tatiana was standing, they were done with their prep, and now it was time for them to put what they learnt to practice.
"Here, you hold it like this" said Natasha as she showed Tatiana how to hold her gun as she held her own.
"Ahh, I see" said Tatiana as she smiled and she accidentally dropped her gun on the ground as Olga and Sofia shrieked and the others turned to look in her direction as the gun made a Thud sound as it landed on the ground.
"Ahh sorry, sorry" said Tatiana as she picked up the gun, luckily it wasn't loaded yet.
"Tatiana, don't have butterfingers, luckily your gun was not loaded yet, but if it was, everyone learn to hide for cover as quickly as you can" said Romanoff as accidents like these were inevitable.
"Sorry commander" said Tatiana as she smiled in embarrassment.
"Hmm" said Romanoff.
"Here, it's best to make sure you have a good grip on the base, or else, it is easy for it to fall out of your hands" said Natasha as Tatiana nodded and she did as Natasha said.
Natasha loaded up her gun with bullets as Tatiana watched her closely and she did the same.
"Is everyone all loaded and ready?" asked Romanoff.
"Yes Commander" said everyone as they nodded their heads.
"Good, now put on your earmuffs and glasses, you will all shoot at the target one by one, first Vicki and then Sofia, Olga, Andrei, Nikolai, Kira, Artem, Alexi, Rodion, Tatiana and finally Natasha in that order" said Romanoff.
"Yes Commander" they all said that they put on their earmuffs and clear glasses.
Romanoff gestured that Vicki start as she walked to the stall and she took her aim quickly as the gunshot noise was very loud that they all could still hear it through their earmuffs.
"Hmm, not bad" said Romanoff as Vicki was not bad, neither was she too good, she did not hit the bullseye, but she was on point.
Natasha noticed that Romanoff was not wearing earmuffs at all, he did not even flinch, she figured that maybe he was used to the loud sound of the gunshot.
"Next" said Romanoff as Sofia went next, and then the next person after all, they all went one by one until it was finally Natasha's turn.
"I have to say, you all are mediocre, Vicki is good" said Romanoff as Natasha was focusing on the target.
"But what can I say, you are beginners" said Romanoff as in that same moment Natasha pulled the trigger and she hit the bullseye on her first shot.
"Impressive" said Romanoff as everyone else was surprised while Vicki scoffed.
"Applause, when you see someone do something well, give an applause" said Romanoff as the others clapped as Vicki clapped reluctantly.
Natasha did not actually expect to hit that on her first try but well, alright then.
"You all need more practice before we can move on to shooting practice, continue to practice on your own" said Romanoff.
"Yes Commander" said everyone together.
"You have the afternoon off, use it wisely" said Romanoff.
"Yes commander" said everyone as they nodded.
