บท 131: Flashback from the Future II

"Dom what happened??" asked Lia as she rushed to Dom, the Police lights were still ringing at the scene of the crime was protected against the public.

"I rushed here as soon as I received your call" said Lia as she looked very concerned.

"Aunt Lia" said Joy as she cried and Dom put her down as she rushed to Lia.

"My Princess, what's wrong??" asked Lia as she looked at Dom as he said nothing and she looked back down at Joy and she picked her up, she had no idea of what was going on here, she had just received a call from Dom in the middle of the night and she had rushed over here, and now Dom wouldn't tell her what was wrong, she just felt so clueless.

"Aunt I want my mommy, I want my mommy" said Joy as she cried and cried, Dom had tried his best to make her stop crying, but she would not, she kept on crying and it broke Dom's heart, he could not stop his daughter from crying.

"My princess, your mommy is at home, she is waiting for you" said Lia as she caressed Joy's hair in an attempt to calm her down.

"No Aunt" said Joy as she cried.

"My mommy is dead" said Joy as she cried even more.

"What??" asked Lia as her eyes went wide and she looked at Dom who also had tears in his eyes and he looked away from her.

Lia did not know what to say or what to think, what happened??? She was in utter confusion, but she did not have time to think about that now, she had to comfort Joy first, her niece was crying a lot, and it was bad for her to cry like this, she would end up having a headache.

"Oh my princess, I am so sorry, I am so, so sorry" said Lia as she did not know what to say, hearing Joy cry also made her want to cry.

"My princess, please don't cry anymore, you will get a headache" said Lia as tears fell from her eyes as well.

"I want my mommy, I want my mommy" said Joy as she cried even more, no amount of coaxing or begging could ease what she felt right now, she just wanted her mother, she wanted her mother.

"My princess, your mommy…" said Lia as she did not know what else to say, she was speechless in a bad way, how could this have happened?? Natasha was dead?? How??

"*Sigh*" said Pete to himself as he sighed and he face-palmed, even though he was very far away, he could still hear the piercing cries of Joy, and it just broke his heart, he wondered what kind of father brought his daughter to a place like this??

Pete could not take it anymore, his heart felt like breaking into a million pieces as he heard Joy cry, he had to do something, so he shook his head, knowing that he would soon regret this and he walked over to where Dom and Lia were standing.

"May I?" asked Pete as he looked at Lia who was still trying to pamper the crying Joy.

Lia looked at Dom, and he nodded his head yes that he could allow Pete.

So Lia walked closer to Pete and she gave Joy to him as she cried, she had never seen this man before, but judging from the way Dom just did agreed, Lia was sure that he was a trustworthy person.

"Shush, Shush, princess" said Pete as he carried Joy and he patted her on her back.

"Everything will be okay, it will be okay" said Pete to Joy, it sounded more like he was reassuring himself.

"But my mommy, my mommy" said Joy in between sobs, as she sniffed.

"Your mommy is in a better place, and she is looking down at you" said Pete.

"She would not like you to cry, she doesn't like it when you cry, so please stop crying, princess, stop crying" said Pete as he rubbed her back and Joy's cries died down a bit, but they were still there.

"You see, there you go princess" said Pete as he smiled and he kissed her forehead, she was like his own daughter, the one he never had, the one he wanted to have with Natasha, and he was going to make sure to protect her, he might have failed to protect her mother, but not her, he was going to make sure he would be there for her.

"Look here, take this my princess" said Pete as he searched in his back pocket and he brought out a card.

"This is my business card, it has my number, so you can call me whenever you want to okay?" asked Pete as he looked at Joy.

"Okay" said Joy as tears were still dropping from her eyes and her lips quivered as she was only wearing her pyjamas and it was very cold out her.

"Alright my princess" said Pete as he smiled at her and she took his business card from him as he gave her back to Lia.

"There, there my princess" said Lia as she patted Joy on her back and Joy sniffed as her sobs were now silent.

Dom looked at Pete, and he seemed to mouth the words "Thank you" and Pete just walked away, he was not sure he could control himself around that man, that sorry excuse for a husband and a father.

A few minutes later.

"She is sleeping now" said Lia as Joy had tired herself out with all her crying.

"Thank you Lia" said Dom, he did not know what he would have done if she was not here with him, the news was still shocking to him, and on top of that he could not handle Joy at all, he just felt devastated, helpless, which was why he had called the only person he could think of at that time.

"*Sigh*" said Lia as she sighed and Dom gave her his jacket as she wrapped Joy in it and she walked to her car as she placed Joy to sleep there as she closed her car door and she walked back to where Dom was, as Pete walked back there also.

"Hello, Mr, can you please explain to me what's going on, I still don't understand" said Lia as she looked at Pete, she was so clueless on what had happened.

"Who are you?" asked Pete as he looked at the woman he had never seen before.

"I am Cecilia Thomas; I am a very good friend of Natasha's" said Lia as she explained.

"I am Commander Peter Lawson, and Natasha was also my friend" said Peter as he found this bad circumstances to meet someone.

"You say was, what happened, I don't understand" said Lia as she looked at Pete and then at Dom, the frustration was getting to her, she did not understand anything at all.

"*Sigh*" said Pete as he sighed.

"Natasha is dead" said Pete.

"She was found with two gunshot wounds, one in her head, and in the side of her abdomen" said Pete as he explained.

"*Gasp*" said Lia as she covered her mouth with her hands, and tears fell from her eyes, who would do that?? Who would do such a thing to Natasha??

"Who would do that??" asked Lia as tears fell from her eyes, Natasha did not deserve this at all.

"Who would do such a thing to Natasha???" asked Lia as she could not believe this, she was trying so hard to process everything she had just heard.

"That is what we are trying to find out" said Pete as he sighed.

"I just don't get it, what was she doing here at this time of the night??" asked Lia as this made no sense to her at all.

"We have no idea, but we are working on it" said Pete.

"Whoever did this, will be brought to Justice!" said Pete.

"I will make sure of it" he said with anger.

"Can we see her body?" asked Lia as she looked at Pete and then she looked at Dom.

"No… unfortunately not, her body needs to be taken to the station for some investigations to be made" said Pete.

"You will not get to see her body anytime soon" said Pete.

"So I suggest you go home now, I will call you if something comes up" said Pete as he turned to look at Dom.

"Have a goodnight" said Pete as he turned to look at Lia and he walked away.

"Dom, you heard what he said, let's go, there is nothing we can do here" said Lia a she turned to look at Dom, but he said nothing.

"Come on let's go" said Lia.

"Joy Is probably cold, she needs to go home and rest well, so please, lets' go" said Lia as she sniffed and Dom finally moved as they walked to her car and they got in.
