Aisha stared at the scroll in front of her. The quill felt heavier than it should be, and Damien’s piercing red eyes made her nervous. If she signed the contract, and failed, she would have to serve him for the rest of eternity – was she even willing to risk that much?
“What are you waiting for, Aisha Yang? Should I start counting again?” Damien teased, “I am not that patient of a man to wait all day.”
Aisha made the mistake of glancing at Damien’s face and she saw that he had a really cunning smile on. She felt as if Damien was playing with her, and she immediately returned to rechecking every single word written in the contract. He looked too confident that she suspected she was signing something to her disadvantage.
The sound of wood scraping on the floor startled Aisha, and before she knew it, Damien was already beside her. His mouth inched closer to her ear as he whispered, “Sign the contract, and you will have a better chance to return as you are.”
