"I know you're following me. You may as well come out." Rowan stopped walking and waited for Mara to show herself.
The Disorder he'd pulled out of Wren still rippled under his skin, and his heart was even more restless than before. The interaction had left him too flustered to just sit around and wait for the man's return, so he'd decided to visit the Great Library at the Branch of Words to see if he could uncover anything that might help with figuring out how to save the Tamlyn and the other poisoned adherents.
He hadn't bothered to tell Ciprian that he'd been able to get through to Tamlyn's spirit, and he didn't plan to. The Master wouldn't listen anyway, and he didn't feel like having his nose broken again if he tried to persuade him to see the truth. Which Rowan would undoubtedly do.
Poor Rowan thought he'd have a quite day to himself. Looks like Mara is determined to get his attention. At least she can distract him until Wren comes back to the garden. (I promise I won't make you wait very long.) Where is Wren anyway? You know the old saying, "Creatures to kill, people to torture."
