Chapter 43: Disciple's Mistake

At that moment, Abium noticed that the lower half of the Assassin's face was covered with a black mask, and he even had a three-headed snake symbol engraved on his forehead area.

As he looked at the distance between the Assassin and Baron, Abium knew he wouldn't make it in time and turned grim.

'If I could cast another [Blink] spell...'

Unfortunately, he had just used the [Blink] spell twice and needed to wait for more than ten minutes.

On the other hand, his [Fire Orb] spell model had already been refilled and was ready to use.

Alas, it would be no use in this situation.

Abium knew that his [Fire Orb] spell would do no damage to a Fourth-Tier Warrior and decided to try another method.

He thought of utilizing his last bit of mana to use [Aura Slash] and paralyze him.

But Abium sensed that a person was moving toward him at an incredible speed from behind and furrowed.

'An enemy?'

With a surprised face, Abium glanced behind and soon noticed it was Baron Auguinare's disciple.

"What-?" Before he could ask a question, Baron's disciple arrived behind him and collided with his body!

Due to the difference in strength, Abium was tossed in the air and flew towards the enemy assassin.

At the same time, the masked Assassin also changed his sword angle and pointed the sword tip at him.

Abium's face turned grim as he saw that the eerie-black sword was aimed at his heart.

A chill went up to his spine!

The sudden action of Baron's disciple also startled Baron Auguinare and his other two Baron's disciples.

Did he do that on purpose? Or was it an accident? No one knew.

At that moment, a sudden calmness took over Abium's mind.

He discovered himself flying towards the sword point in slow motion.

No, he noticed it wasn't his body that was moving faster, but his thinking speed seemed enchanted.

He raised his left hand, pointed his forefinger at the enemy's face, and cast the [Fire Orb] spell.

A moment later, a reddish rob of fire came out of his hand, flew towards the enemy at an incredible speed, and crashed onto the masked Assassin's face.

A moment later, a huge explosion resounded in the main hall.

Crimson fire enveloped the Masked Assassin, and the shockwave even threw him backward.

The black sword that pointed at Abium's chest also fell from the Assassin's grip and landed on the concrete floor with a clang.

Meanwhile, Abium got caught in the shockwave, flew towards the left, and crashed onto the white-marble pillar before falling.

Thankfully, no bones cracked in his body.

Letting out a groan, he stood up slowly, took his sword from the concrete floor, and imbued every bit of mana into it to create an intermediate sword aura.

Then, he gripped the hilt tighter and pointed it at the masked Assassin, standing up a few meters away from him.

At that moment, the Assassin released his darkness-elemental energy, enveloped his body in strange dark clouds, and vanquished the fire.

Meanwhile, Abium quietly shifted his gaze towards the pitch-black sword and felt an ominous feeling upon looking.

'A cursed sword? No. I'm sensing some familiar energy from this sword. But what is it?'

He squinted his eyes sharper and tried to remember everything about cursed weapons but couldn't find any clue.

He was puzzled a little.

He hurriedly cast those thoughts away from his head and focused on the enemy.

The enemy also returned to his usual self and moved his gaze towards the pitch-black sword.

A second later, he stepped forward and hurriedly moved toward the sword at an incredible speed to pick up the sword.

On the other hand, Abium also sprinted forward, aimed his sword at the enemy, and slashed.

The next instant, a sunshine bolt emerged from his sword tip, went directly towards the opponent's chest, and paralyzed him on the spot.

Still, a cloud of black smoke emerged out of the masked Assassin's body and started nullifying his [Aura Slash] skill effect.

Then, the Assassin slowly moved his left hand inside his backpack and tried to take out a scroll.

'Spell scroll?' A deep frown appeared on Abium's face. He knew how precious one spell scroll was and went grim.

By the time the masked Assassin managed to pick up the scroll, Abium also got closer to him and slashed his sword at his left hand.

A second later, Abium's sword moved at an incredible speed, cleaved the enemy's wrist, and even made a deep wound in his axillary region.

The spell scroll and his severed wrist fell and landed on the concrete floor a moment later.

"ARGHHH!"

The Assassin's scream echoed in the hall the next instant.

Simultaneously, scarlet blood splattered from his wrist and painted the concrete floor.

On the other hand, Abium hurriedly kicked the severed wrist and backed away.

The Assassin's left wrist and the scroll slid towards the side with a swish and soon crashed onto the nearby wall.

While Abium was battling, Baron Auguinare also went into a frenzied state and covered a unique type of ice elemental energies around his sword.

Then, he made another slash and rammed the sword at those Fourth-Tier assassins.

A loud explosion resounded as his sword broke into minute ice needles, flew towards the two Fourth-Tier Assassins, and began creating small ice explosions, releasing more misty snow.

Before they could recover from his sudden attack, Baron backed away and moved closer to Abium.

"I'm ashamed of my disciple's earlier action, boy."

Baron said apologetically.

Then, he turned his gaze towards his disciple and stared at him in a fury.

"Why did you push him towards the enemy?" A hint of anger appeared in his voice.

On the other hand, Abium waved his hand and spoke calmly.

"Solve the current problem, Lord Baron."

As for Baron's disciple's action, he didn't care less about it at this moment.

He then touched his space ring, took out a long sword, and passed it to Baron.

Following that, he looked at his silver sword and noticed multiple cracks all over the area.

'Tsk, this is the problem with normal swords. They aren't strong enough to withstand the sword aura power.' He sighed in disappointment and stared coldly at the masked Assassin.

Meanwhile, the masked Assassin also returned to his usual self, moved backward, and started panting heavily.

Scarlet blood drops continued to drip from his left hand and splashed on the floor.

"I can't express my gratitude for your timing help, Half-elf. I owe you a big time." Baron said as he grabbed the long sword from Abium's hand and shifted his gaze towards the two Fourth-Tier Assassins.

Meanwhile, they removed the snowy ice from their bodies using their elemental energies and stared warily at Baron.

A strange silence appeared in the hall.

"Our job here is over." The masked Assassin said, breaking the silence.
