It's torture.
Kimsmeth keeps standing at the corner, working hard not to get their attention while he listens to Ethel's vicious words. It is such a torture to hear how they plan to make him suffer and later on end his life.
But there was no way he could protect himself or escape from them.
"I cannot promise," Ethel said, "but I will work hard not to kill in the meantime."
She gravely hates Kimsmeth. The person who brought chaos to their home and sent her husband to death could never be forgiven.
"Okay, as long as he can still manage to work, you can slap him." Mila said. It was unfair for Ethel if she didn't even have the chance to release her anger. That is why Mila permits her to slap Kimsmeth. She then pointed her hand toward Kimsmeth and finally introduced him to Ethel.
"That pathetic man over there is Kimsmeth. The author of the novel."
Ethel instantly moved her gaze toward Kimsmeth.
