My heart fluttered as he walked over to me, my breath hitching as he got closer. I squirmed under his gaze, fiddling with the hem of my dress as his eyes glazed over me from head to toe.
I turned to Dana, noticing she was no longer there before turning back to Abel.
“You look-” he said breathlessly, clearing his throat before finishing his sentence. “Beautiful,” he growled, reaching out and tilting my head up to look at him with his index finger.
I coughed, stepping back even though every part of me wanted nothing more than to get closer to him. I forced a smile, ignoring my body pulsating in response to his brief touch and my heart melting under his relentless stare.
“You came,” I said, hating how raspy my voice sounded.
“So did you,” he said, surprised.
“Dana made me.”
“You two have gotten close,” he remarked, an impressed smile breaking onto his face.
“Yeah, I should probably go find-” I started, turning around to scan the surroundings for her.
