“So what about you?” I asked, clearing my throat and only raising her suspicion.
“Nothing half as interesting as you”, she said with a knowing smile.
Rolling my eyes I gestured over to the boy lying in a hospital bed and asked, “so what happened to him?”
“He was out of it when he showed up so we didn’t ask any questions. We’ll know when he wakes up.”
I nodded in understanding, ignoring her eyes boring into my head.
“What?” I asked, turning back at her.
“So are you going to be with the Alphas now?”
“I guess,” I said, shrugging.
“What’s that like?” she asked, curiously.
“Boring. I’d rather be in the workhouse picking fights,” I joked. She giggled, her face breaking out in a wide smile.
“What’s going on here?” Noah asked, strolling up to us as he eyed the two of us distrustfully.
“Nothing,” Dana replied, her smile fading quickly.
