Mr. Gu was pleased to hear that. "You're right. How could I mistreat you?"

Mrs. Gu thought that her daughter was trying to compromise and did not want to argue with her father, so she felt even more sorry for her. Just as she was about to argue, she saw her daughter shake her head at her.

"Gu Chu's promotion to vice president is a big deal, but it's only announced within the company. Why don't we hold a banquet for her at home? That way, more people will know about it," Gu Wan suggested with a smile.
