บท 173: Downfall

(Rachel)

As Anurag called for the meeting to be dispersed, the residents slowly began making their way back to their respective flats. Pretty soon, the only people that were left in the lobby was Rachel, Mira, Preeti and Aryan. The four of them waited in front of the elevator as it slowly came back down after having dropped off the previous group. The doors slid open and everyone stepped inside the metal box.

Preeti's flat was the closest to the ground floor, she gave them a weak goodbye and stepped off the elevator. Mira's flat was up next. Rachel knowingly gave her a look and then nodded slowly. Mira seemed to have understood as she cleared her throat and placed a hand on her husband's shoulder.

"Umm… dear, I was wondering if I could go up to Rachel's flat for a bit?" she asked.

"What for?" he inquired without looking back at her.

"Just… to talk. It'll only be for a little while…" Mira said in a hopeful voice.
