บท 138: The goodbyes

The team, led by Rody, arrived outside the apartment just as the sun had begun its descent. An orange hue had been smeared across the evening sky, making the horizon look more like more like a painting than real life. Rody breathed in the fresh air and exhaled slowly. He was as ready as he would ever be. He looked back at the rest of his supposed team members. Each one seemed to be wearing some form of protection. Rody was the only one there in an orange tank top and blue shorts. Needless to say, compared to the rest of them Rody felt naked and vulnerable.

"Ahh, Looks like we're getting a send-off." said Anurag, looking over his shoulder.

Rody turned around and saw a bunch of people emerge out of the building. The tiny crowd quickly dispersed as they headed for someone or the other on the team. Rody watched on in solitude as all around him were hugs and kisses. His throat felt suddenly dry and he had to look away to prevent himself from feeling worse.
