บท 99: Aftermath

The last few minutes of sunlight faded as the five of them drove along the main road leading to the centre of the city. As the darkness descended upon them, Ray turned on the headlights of the car. Rody leaned to the side and gazed out through the windscreen at the path ahead. Unfortunately, there wasn't much to see except for more wreckages of cars. Ray easily manoeuvred past them with slight adjustments to the steering wheel, setting them on a relatively smooth drive forward.

"Oh!" Samantha said suddenly, causing most of them to jump, "I know this route!"

"What do you mean?" Ray asked, looking at her through the rear-view mirror.

"This is the route we usually take to Rachel's place." Samantha replied, "You know, the upcoming actress my family is friends with…"

"You really think any of that matters anymore?" Meghan asked in a low voice, "Forget her career, at this point she'll be lucky to even be alive."
