Kelly leaned back in the recliner seat she had claimed in the lounging area, a triumphant smile pasted on her face.
Lia and Ryan exchanged nervous glances.
“What proof could you possibly have because none of your accusations are real. Lia and I are married out of love,” Ryan argued, shifting his weight from leg to leg nervously.
“Really?” Kelly challenged.
“Yes! We have no idea where your false accusations stem from, and I can guarantee that your allegations hold no real depth,” Lia added.
“Oh! Can-it, lunatic!” Kelly said as she took out her phone and started scrolling through it. After a few seconds of tense silence, an audio started playing from her cellphone.
“I don’t care! I fulfilled the end of my deal, you see,” Lia heard her voice coming through the cellphone’s speakers. “He gets to keep his stupid business, and I keep my freedom. Woo-hoo, everyone wins! And tonight, Bobbilicious, I celebrate my freedom.”
Lia gulped. There was no mistaking her voice.
