Yang Xia sat down on a chair in the corner of the room and watched the young woman who lay motionless on the mattress in front of her.

She wore a simple black robe with gold trimmings along the edges of the fabric. A long sword had been placed next to her bed and carefully attached to a strip of leather to prevent it from falling down.

A silvery grey mask covered the young woman's entire face leaving none of her facial features exposed. 

The Sect Leader of the Crimson Demon Sect continued to wait quietly as she had done for the last two weeks.

She knew that what she had done was drastic… some might even call it cruel.

Forcing the future successor of her sect to face down her worst fear or trap her in a world that was too addictive to ever desire to return from.

There was a very real chance that she would never regain consciousness.
