"Oh, my," Teng's mother worriedly inquired, "Are you okay, Zhou?"

Zhou smiled politely as he wiped his mouth and stopped coughing, "Yes. Sorry about that." 

"Be careful, brother Zhou," Lang said from across the table.

"As I was saying, this is the first time Teng has brought a friend home," their mother continued, "I am overjoyed for him. He's growing up so quickly. He'll be married and have children soon-"

"Mother!" Xieran exclaimed, gasping, "It's too soon to discuss marriage. Don't you think so?"

"I'm just saying," the mother shrugged, stabbing some creamy pasta with her fork and then putting the pasta in her mouth.

"Geez," Xieran mumbled, drinking her apple juice, "Stop always bringing up such things."
