บท 128: chapter 121 - Heading to Orbaume Kingdom
Settling the matter of the raptors, everyone departed using Sam, the undead carriage and father of Saria and Rita. Ryuu and the others could easily use [ Shundō ] to travel and reach the kingdom of Orbaume within an hour but decided to ride a carriage to enjoy the moment.
It would be boring to just head there and not savor the journey to get there. Furthermore, it allowed to have more time to chat with his lover since they'll be busy once they arrive in the Orbaume kingdom
Ryuu planned on finding Heinz and challenging him in a duel for fun. He only wanted to place a small clone to spy on them and see any activity that they may do.
Beside that also planned on becoming an adventurer and manipulating the whole kingdom with his Hivemind. They would be mere chest pieces in his little game.
Though, he needed to be careful as people also have [ Intuition ] skill and even if it isn't at the level of his innate [ Intuition ] still makes a large difference on doing things.
Along the way towards the boundary mountain range that had a tunnel leading to Hartner Duchy had encountered few bird-type and Pteranodon-like monsters that Ryuu didn't hesitate to turn into his pokemon.
It was just a rank 4 Pteranodon and despite the low rank compared to his rank 5 Xenomorph raptors was more troublesome due their ability to fly.
That made their threat level to rank 6 when they were on pack and used the mountain's terrain to push adventurers to their death or severely wound them.
Pushing through eventually found himself at goblin infested village that was likely abandoned after being overwhelmed by the creatures.
"I expected more from the infamous goblin but meh."
Justine said in disappointment, littering the whole place with flesh and blood of goblin that Ryuu put into his hive while Trese into her shadow army.
They were weak considering their predictable and one track mind even under influences of a Goblin Leader that Van easily killed.
"You shouldn't worry since once we get into the city then the likelihood of encountering a cocky adventurer is high for many young masters."
Ryuu said while dissipating the last goblin and gaining more experience than using other weapons. He was surprisingly correct that using rebellion allowed him to gain at least twice the amount than normal.
While telling the cliche scenario that they might encounter within the city. Even if their not at the same level as a Xianxia Young master still contain discrimination especially foreigner like them.
This is the reason few decide to change duchy since they would face ridicule if they did. Only adventurers have the ability to avoid this especially when they are C or B class adventurers having certain expenses and respect.
"Though, defeating a disaster designated monster that had built a stronghold would have raised your class in the adventurer guild."
Zran, an undead titan assassin that recently tried to be Ninja along with his subordinate, Braga, a black goblin that was created using the Death attribute Mana of Vandalieu and resembles more human than goblin.
As he had said, most of the goblins were under the leadership of a Goblin King causing them to coordinate and formulate a plan that made them more difficult to handle.
These kinds of jobs are normally given by Veteran C class adventurers or a single B class. They don't pose much of a threat individually but as a whole made them a formidable opponent.
"Can you see where the City is, Ryuu?"
"It's still quite far…"
Ryuu used [ Byakugan ] to reach the city quite easily since his eyes could see anything in a hundred kilometers radius.
"Well you would go first while I'll stay at the village farm and see if I could meet kasim."
"Good luck with that."
After absorbing some of the goblin into his [ Hivemind ] and the other into his Biomass went ahead and flashed their way to the city using [ Shundō ].
As they've discussed, Vandalieu would try to retrace his steps and some luck might see them again while Ryuu and his harem headed straight to the city of Hartner Duchy.
It didn't take them much time to arrive and found the city gates being guarded with a line for those who want to enter the city. Getting inside the city is fine to be paid but unfortunately Ryuu or even van had coins that belong to the Orbaume Kingdom and most of their coins are from the Amid Empire.
He could easily go over the walls without needing to wait in the line. However, Ryuu couldn't shake the feeling that if he did then it would end horribly for him.
It was possible for him to be spotted and with his [ Hypnosis ] failing since some adventurer has resistance to it. He had to play it smart and not some wish fulfilment protagonist who has immense dumb luck.
"Why did we wait in line again?"
Justine voiced her complaint, disliking that they had to wait like the rest of the people. Her words made the other people glare at her but only those who were low level adventurers and merchants since a veteran adventurer would know when to or not to mess with someone.
"Suck it up! I don't enjoy it as much as you do but we can't just go over the walls knowing that we could be spotted."
"I mean couldn't you just use [ Hypnosis ]?"
"I can but knowing some people have magic resistances then I won't take any chances."
You may wonder why Ryuu is afraid of just doing whatever he wants? Because being overconfident with his own skill might be his own demise. Furthermore, he doesn't want to cause too much trouble that could affect innocent lives.
"Justine, it is vital to be careful even to a place we have little information about."
Trese added that the place also has evil vampires that can pose some nuisance to their plan. She also knows the art of striking at the right moment and analyzes her surroundings first before acting.
"Fuck! I hate when you two go against me."
"Anyway, Alex, can you spread your shadow?"
"Unfortunately not, I'm not the shadow monarch you've been telling me about."
Trese shook her head since she does have [ Long Distance Control] nor the [ Hivemind ] and unlike the shadow monarch can't share vision with her vision to the shadow nor could she exchange shadow.
Though Ryuu knows that eventually would acquire the job for it as long she knows about the shadow monarch that would be used by the job system to create the new job.
"Then I guess I have to do it."
He proceeded to infect most of the people in the line, especially merchants that seemed important individuals. No one would notice them since he only attached parasites to spy and gain information.
After a while, they were finally inside the duchy walking their way towards the adventurer guild. Ryuu thought the troublesome part of making a guild card was the fact they would be able to see their status.
Though, he already planned this and made sure to make them believe their status was normal to avoid people's attention because once they've discovered that their status contains undiscovered jobs would lead to the guildmaster's attention.
"This is a lot different than Talosheim."
Shinobu whispered seeing that most people were looking at them with curiosity and disdain considering they are foreigners. Despite the Orbaume Kingdom is more open that Amid Empire still held discrimination among themselves.
"They seem to be on guard."
Kanae commented seeing how they were observing their every moment. She wasn't mad, only confused as to why they had such disdain.
"They're just on guard, fearing that an Amid Empire spy might get into the Kingdom."
Indeed, posing as an adventurer was an effective way to get to another country and the only reason why Heinz and his group was able to be accepted was because of their rank as A class adventurer.
"Why can't these people just stop fighting?"
Kie shared her sorrow seeing these people wariness towards them as nothing more than fear. Ryuu smiled since she was too kind and held her head to calm her.
"That's just how it is. Unless we defeat Alda and his faction then continuous war would remain."
Ryuu would say that they would eventually fight among themselve if peace existed but knowing their dungeon that could occupy them then it is safe to say peace would last a lot longer than on earth.
