บท 360: A waiting game

"Why is this taking so long?" I demand, pacing in front of the double doors again. "they could at least come and tell us something."

"Baby, come sit. Eat," My mother grabbed my arm, pulling me back toward the seats. I didn't want to follow, but my body was aching, and despite myself, I was hungry. "Here, I got you some coffee too."

"I just want to know that she's okay," I hated this. What was happening? I know that human surgery is very different from ours. Because of our rapid healing, things would go much faster if a pack doctor had to operate. 

"Harold's a great surgeon. He's taking care of her," Cabe assured, looking odd without his scrubs. "Pulmonary surgery isn't something you want to rush. It's only been four hours. That's normal."
