ตอน 3: Chapter 1

Zero effort Harry Potter Fanfic at its finest.

------------------------

"Ugh…." Slowly, I opened my eyes, lazily feeling the warm cozy blanket covering me. I groaned, stretching out, before realizing where I was. Hogwarts. Harry Potter. It really hadn't been a dream. How lovely.

Sitting up on my bed, I winced a little, moving my minuscule hands. Yesterday had been truly quite the blast. Not only did I get to see a few iconic moments, such as the sorting of a few noteworthy individuals, but more importantly, the food. It was heavenly. A little too greasy in my opinion though. I really wonder how so many of the students stayed thin.

Out of the vast food selection, I'd recommend the Pot Roast and the Crème brûlée. Delicious stuff. But I'll definitely have to exercise a lot.

Tapping the wooden frame of my bed, I slowly got up and onto the rugged floor, putting aside my blanket. It was very comfortable, no doubt stuffed with some magical charms. Practically everything in the castle was magical after all. The blanket was soft and fluffy, with a warm vivid yellow, that surprisingly didn't hurt the eyes. It was hard to create a pleasant yellow, but the manufacturer did a good job.

The bed itself was unique in a sense. The pillows were a nice natural yellow and did not seem to be crumpled in the slightest. The bedsheets were a light beige, borderline white, but keeping that slight brownish tint. The frame, was a different story though. Made of presumably oak wood, it was strange in the sense, that it wasn't a simple frame, and was instead almost like a grove of small branches, twisting about the bed, sometimes sticking out, with a few having small green leaves extruding from them.

The series didn't describe the common rooms and dormitories in much detail, so I had a lot to look forward to. And I was definitely not disappointed. My dormitory was, in terms of interior design, very nice. For one thing, the decoration.

A few bright paintings hung from the wall, depicting those iconic moving paintings, most of which had a natural theme. In one of them, a small deer danced in a prairie, the sun above shining. Also, the room had quite a lot of plants. Various potted plants were strewn about, in an almost unorganized fashion.

It added a nice aesthetic to the place, giving it a natural, rustic vibe. The lighting was no disappointment either, with a large circular window facing outwards that gave off a light warm glow that illuminated the whole room. The Sorting Hat really hadn't exaggerated. This house did have very good windows.

There were a few other students in this boy's dorm room. Some iconic figures. Justin Finch-Fletchely, Ernie Macmillan, and a few other individuals, who I had no idea about. So, basically, they were irrelevant. Heh.

Or I just forgot.

Most likely the latter.

Fifteen Minutes Later….

The common room was a buzz, with the new First-Years and of course, the new school year. It was a lot more enthusiastic than one would normally expect, but that might have been to do with them being in a magical school? But some of them had been must have grown up in the magical community…. Maybe they just all loved education? House of the hard-working.

The Common Room was pretty, it was basically a more expansive version of the dormitories with a few nice addons. The lighting was nice, the furniture was nice, I really wanted to know the Hogwarts interior designer. Whoever came up with this, was a bloody genius.

After a few minutes, we piled out of the Hufflepuff Common room, and down in through the castle to the Great Hall once more. Me and the rest of the First years of course, trailed along with the older students, as we had no idea where we were going.

Along the way, I saw many interesting things. Moving knight armor, albeit a little robotically, many talking and moving paintings, who were pointing and gossiping, and of course, the architecture. Which was beautiful. I wasn't an interior designer or even an architectural major at all in my previous life, but I had quite a lot of interest in this beautiful building and such. No professional, by any means.

Apparently, today was completely free, being a Sunday. That was nice. I would have much time to explore, and hopefully not get lost. That was doubtful though. They would get their timetables and schedules later on in the day.

Anyway, I had a few priorities. Most of them were quite important.

Stay alive. Obvious. Very important.

Check out the Room Of Requirement. Cliche, but it would come in quite handy. Important.

Check out the Kitchen. Very important.

Attempt not to get lost. Important.

Swim in the lake. Why? Dunno.

Throw Scabbers into the lake. Why? Just for satisfaction. Tricky though. Do students bring their pets down?

Sneak into Hogsmeade. Why? Butterbeer. Also shopping.

Practice. Important?

Now, one might think that a few of these are quite useless, to say the least, but I think you're wrong. All those other losers would all go about doing some random crap and such, and in the end, they usually achieved greatness. Me? I just wanna live. And in this beautiful world, I might as well live it out well.

In my previous life, I completely wasted away my High School Life, along with a good part of the rest of my life on... Less than savory things. This time? Nope. I wanted to experience Harry Potter at its finest.

Well, I'll still practice and study. I'm still a good student.

A lot of students seemed to be whispering and gossiping about me as we went downstairs. Hatstalls were quite rare and interesting. Actually, I knew that, but mine was seemingly different. Mostly, with the length, and also the conversation.

Apparently, the Sorting Hat had inadvertently given a few clues while we were chatting telepathically. And sometimes I said some things out loud.

And because of that, some people now believed I was…. Attempting to hide a dead body?

Seriously?

My reputation, gone before the year even started. I was extremely sorrowful. Well, it probably had something to do with that apparently soulless voice of mine.

From my own perspective, I had a beautiful sonorous voice, like that of a heavenly angel. Well, that was for the earlier part of my past life. Quite the narcissist I was, and still am. Then, my best, and only friend at the time, told me I sounded like a combination between a half-broken radio, Santa Claus if he was a devil and a laughing donkey. Harrison was a very imaginative guy if you couldn't tell.

As we walked down rounding a bend, suddenly, the nervous boy next to me tapped me on the shoulder, trembling a little. "H-hello?"

"Yes?" I asked politely, turning over.

The boy flinched a little, but continued on as we walked, surprising me:

"Umm…. Is it really true that you have ten bodies under your bed?"

I blinked for a second, processing this information in my mind, before my face contorted into a creepy grin. I patted him on the shoulder, my eyes wide as I nonchalantly spoke:

"Oh, that? Close. Eleven actually."

The boy ran away, huddling up with his friends, all of them looking fearfully at me.

I burst out laughing, with a few of the older students looking on in amusement.

Well. Among the first years, my reputation is probably skewered. But for me, that was funny.

And knowing children. They would do much to spread the fear. I mean, I was sure not all the kids were complete dullards, but seriously. Eleven-Year olds are sorta toxic.

Now I'm just rambling.

(A/N: If you couldn't tell, it's gonna be slow-paced.)
