บท 293: Chapter 293: The Quidditch Finals

If Gryffindor won the match, this team would go down in history as legends.

For Harry and the rest of the team, winning the Quidditch Cup would bring them glory, ensuring that they would be remembered and that their signatures would be permanently present in the Trophy Room.

This is just about the highest honor a school wizard could receive. After all, not every young wizard can win a special award like Voldemort.

Of course, Ivan was an exception.

Not only did he receive a special contribution award in his first year of school, but he broke the record and became the youngest wizard to enter the Trophy Room in history.

Not long ago, he also received the Order of Merlin Second Class.

Anyway, his family did not know what the Order of Merlin Second Class represented, and Ivan himself did not value this honor at all. Because of this medal, for a long time, Filch's attitude towards Ivan was surprisingly respectful.

Ivan was only an exception. Not everyone had the opportunity and strength to fight Voldemort, the Basilisk, the Dementors and the evil Dark wizards while they were just students. For ordinary students, the Quidditch Cup was the only chance to get their names into the Trophy Room.

Especially considering that after seven years, Gryffindor once again had a chance to win the Quidditch Cup and Wood was about to graduate, the victory in this match was particularly significant.

The game was still going on, and now all the focus was on Harry. He apparently realized this. After Lee announced that Gryffindor was 50 points ahead, Harry gave up on following Malfoy and flew off alone into the sky in search of the Golden Snitch.

Malfoy gave chase and seemed a bit impatient.

Above the pitch, Angelina tried her best and had great success.

She punched the air as she soared around the end of the pitch; the scarlet sea below screamed her delight.

At that moment, the accident happened suddenly.

Without warning, Slytherin's Marcus Flint ran towards Angelina as fast as he could, like a giant cannonball coming out of a cannon, and under everyone's gaze, nearly knocked Angelina off her broom.

As the crowd booed, Flint shrugged and modestly explained, "Sorry, I didn't see her!"

This seemed to be a sign. Fred was very unhappy with the attack on Angelina.

A moment later, he threw his broomstick at the back of Flint's head.

Flint's nose hit the handle of his broomstick and began to bleed.

"That'll do!" shouted Madam Hooch, coming up between them. "Penalty kick to Gryffindor for an unprovoked attack on their Chaser! Penalty kick to Slytherin for deliberate harm to their Chaser!"

Mrs. Hooch's punishment didn't stop the anger on both sides, but it made the situation worse, or more accurately, it was Slytherin's plan of action, who began using various excuses to attack Gryffindor players frequently.

Everyone was very angry at what Slytherin was doing.

Ron was yelling at Flint, Hermione was frowning and wanted to stop him, and she heard Lee Jordan yell, "Damn, you dirty, cheating...."

"Jordan, if you can't comment impartially...!" Professor McGonagall paused.

"I'm telling it like it is, Professor," Lee Jordan said, "look at the performance of these guys. It's really disgusting."

In fact, this was the nastiest game Ivan had ever seen.

Because of Slytherin's frequent fouls, the difference between the points was quickly narrowing.

They were quickly resorting to any means to take the Quaffle. Bole hit Alicia with his stick and tried to say he thought it was a Bludger. Angelina, however, was the main target....

The Slytherin players, who were as strong as bears, took every opportunity to attack Angelina, hoping to knock her off the broom.

In the face of Slytherin's provocation, Fred and George were not to be outdone. Fred waved his club around Alicia and Angelina to protect them both. George retaliated by hitting Bole in the face with his elbow.

But it didn't work. Flint and Derrick took advantage of Fred and George's absence to aim the Bludgers at Wood. They hit him in the stomach, one after the other.

Wood flipped in the air, clutching his broom, completely out of control.

Madam Hooch was beside herself, and yelled at Flint and Derrick. "NO ATTACKING THE PORTER UNLESS THE BALL IS INSIDE THE SCORE ZONE! Penalty against Gryffindor!"

The penalty was not a penalty to Slytherin, they didn't mind at all, but often used the advantages of the foul to close the gap between the two teams.

The Gryffindor players were obviously not well matched, and Wood's coaching and tactical arrangements never considered that this would happen.

And they could not give up the game; they could only grit their teeth.

The wave of anger from the crowd was higher than the waves of the sea, and Ron and several other boys even wanted to run to the other side and teach the Slytherins a lesson.

Fortunately, Gryffindor was still sixty points ahead, and they could get the Cup as long as Harry caught the golden Snitch.

In the air, Harry could almost feel hundreds of eyes following him as he flew across the pitch. He was flying higher than anyone else, and Malfoy was speeding after him.

All the tension before the start of the game was gone. He was in better condition than ever. As he passed the Ravenclaw stands, he saw the Golden Snitch shining 20 feet above him.

Harry made a great burst of speed; the wind roared in his ears.

He reached out and was about to touch the Golden Snitch, but at that moment, the firebolt suddenly slowed down.

Horrified, Harry looked around.

He saw Malfoy flying forward, grabbing the tail of the firebolt and pulling it back.

"What are you doing?" Harry was angry enough to punch Malfoy, but he couldn't reach him.

Malfoy was panting with the effort of holding on to the firebolt, but his eyes were gleaming mischievously. He had accomplished what he wanted to do. The Snitch had disappeared again.

"Penalty! Penalty against Gryffindor! I've never seen such tactics!" Madam Hooch shouted, shooting over to where Malfoy was gliding on his Nimbus 2001.

"CHEATING SCARECROW!" Lee Jordan howled into the megaphone, dancing out of Professor McGonagall's reach. "YOU DIRTY, CHEATING..."

Lee Jordan didn't need to hold back; Professor McGonagall didn't even bother to scold him.

She was waving her finger in Malfoy's direction, he had dropped his hat and was also shouting furiously.

Next to her, Sirius was even more furious, and without a word, he pulled his wand straight out. A red dot flew straight at Malfoy. No one knew what the curse was.

This kind of behavior was obviously irrational, but it was in Sirius' style.

The entire audience screamed hoarsely. They saw Sirius's spell blocked by a silver light in the air, and the two collided together in a bright light. It was Snape's magic, and he looked provocatively at Sirius with a grim smile on his face.

Professor McGonagall was very surprised at what they had done. She quickly stopped Sirius and told him not to make any more drastic moves.

This unexpected development allowed the game to go on. Under Mrs. Hooch's instructions, Alicia was awarded the Gryffindor penalty.

But she was so angry that she missed the goal by several yards.

The Gryffindor team was losing concentration and the Slytherins, delighted by Malfoy's lack of Harry's good performance, and Snape's help, were being propelled to greater heights.

Their whole team was encouraged to fly higher and faster.
