บท 292: Chapter 292: The Grand Billboard

Behind the colorful slogan "VICTORY FOR GRYFFINDOR" was the logo and slogan of the 'Hogwarts Magic' newspaper and store and promotional images.

This advertising board was placed at the highest point, about a huge third of the Gryffindor stand, and attracted the astonished eyes of all the young wizards before the players arrived.

The poster was proposed and conceived by Ivan. Its creation was completely accomplished by Sirius. No one knew how much effort he put into making it. The final area of the poster was beyond Ivan's imagination.

In fact, getting the above pattern to last not only required large amounts of stable magic power support, but also required special materials to make the billboard.

All of this was extremely expensive. Such a large billboard definitely needed a large amount of galleons. Although the investment was not cheap, the effect achieved was obvious to everyone.

All the Slytherin students looked pale and resentful of Gryffindor's stance.

They also made some preparations. Behind the poles of the Slytherin stand, two hundred people wore green; the silver Slytherin snake shone on their banners.

Compared to the surrounding scarlet ocean, however, these preparations were dowdy and insignificant.

In the front row sat Professor Snape, dressed in green like everyone else around him, and wearing a very grim smile.

Ivan and Hermione entered the stands, and she showed great interest in the overhead billboard.

"How did you and Sirius do it?" she asked curiously. "Before today, I didn't even realize you were preparing for this."

"All the work has been done by Sirius. I'm only responsible for the idea." Ivan explained, "I was a bit inspired by the professional Muggle team game. I felt I could introduce some things correctly. Several companies that have been working with the 'Hogwarts Magic' newspaper were also willing to sponsor it. We originally intended to invest in a single-use advertising board to go all the way around the edge of the stands, but Professor McGonagall didn't agree with this, she thought it was too commercial, so for now we've just done this sign."

"This is beyond my imagination, how much magic did you put into it?" Hermione said with interest. "But Professor McGonagall is right. It's not really appropriate for these things to be entered in a school Quidditch competition."

"To make these patterns move, in the last two months, Sirius used over three hundred magic spells. To support Harry, he was very willing to do those things." Ivan pulled out the rosettes that had just been distributed by the door and handed them to Hermione. "All Gryffindor supporters should wear these. Everyone thinks rosettes can bring good luck."

"Rosettes bring good luck?" Hermione paused and smiled. "That's the first I've heard of that. I always thought everyone sent them on Valentine's Day."

Perhaps Ivan was too close, Hermione suddenly realized something and stopped abruptly.

"This rosette, can I help you put it on?" Ivan plucked up his courage and asked.

"Of course!" Hermione's face turned red.

With Hermione's consent, Ivan awkwardly helped her put the rosette on.

Looking at the look on Ivan's face, Hermione had a happy smile on her face. Under the scarlet rosette, she looked very stunning and had a tantalizing look.

Ivan felt himself blushing and his heart was jumping.

He heard a laugh behind him. He turned around and saw Ginny and several other girls who had been following them, all smiling, chattering and looking at them playfully.

By the time Ivan and Hermione managed to make their way through the crowd and get to Ron and Colin to help them take their seats, the team had already begun to file in.

They sat down in the seat and heard commentator Lee Jordan shouting, "And here are the Gryffindors! Look at their lineup, Potter, Bell, Johnson, Spinnet, The Weasley brothers and Wood. Widely acknowledged as the best Quidditch team Hogwarts has seen in a few years..."

Lee's comments were drowned out by a tide of "boos" from the Slytherin end.

"And here comes the Slytherin team, led by Captain Flint. He's made some changes to the lineup and seems to be going for size over skill..."

Hearing his comments, the boos from Slytherin grew louder.

Ivan, however, thought Lee was right. He squinted to see the Slytherin players on the pitch. Malfoy was easily the smallest person on the team; the rest were all tall and big. They were about the size of Crabbe and Goyle.

After the captains of the two sides shook hands, fourteen brooms rose into the air, and the sound of Mrs. Hooch's whistle was lost in the roars of the crowd.

Ivan saw Harry take the lead and Malfoy did not pursue. Instead, he mounted his broom and flew in the opposite direction, speeding off in search of the Golden Snitch.

In the two halves, the odds for both players were 50/50, which was too bad for Harry with his Fire Saeta and the Gryffindor team, who were behind in the overall score.

Harry didn't hesitate to swing the broomstick to the other half of the pitch and keep up with Malfoy, hindering him by virtue of his speed advantage.

"Gryffindor in possession, Gryffindor's Alicia Spinnet with the Quaffle, heading straight for the Slytherin goalposts, looking good, Alicia! Argh, no.... The Quaffle was intercepted by Warrington, Slytherin's Warrington breaking up the field.... Wow!!!!! Nice Bludger job by George Weasley, Warrington drops the Quaffle, it's caught by.... Johnson, Gryffindor back in possession, come on, Angelina, it's a Bludger!!! I WAS ABOUT TO SCORE!!! 10-0 IN FAVOR OF GRYFFINDOR!"

Lee Jordan's explanation was very passionate. The crowd shouted, "Well done, Angelina, what a good girl!"

Then, before anyone could react, Alicia grabbed the ball again. She deftly bypassed the keeper and put the ball into the Slytherin goal post. Twenty nil to Gryffindor.

Wood's tactic worked, and Gryffindor took the lead over Slytherin on the scoreboard by virtue of the superiority gained through hard training.

Everyone's performance was incredible. The Quaffle was always on Gryffindor's side, and Wood saved almost every ball.

The pace of the game was very fast. In less than ten minutes, Gryffindor was 50 points ahead.

With that, everyone joined in Harry's performance. If he could catch the Golden Snitch before Malfoy, then this year's Quidditch Cup would belong to Gryffindor.
