"So why have you had us stay alone?" Autumn asked sternly.
"Yes Miss Val, why have you asked for them to stay?" Hawks added.
"I think Deamon shouldn't come to the teachings for the foreseeable future," Val stated flatly.
"Why are you saying that Val?" Griff asked.
"He has nearly no aptitude in mysticism and weaponization and has the lightning element. He's just going to bring the students around him down and will be dead weight for the five-year benchmark tournament." Val explained.
Hawks replied, "Well tha..."
"Are you serious?! You're seriously trying to keep our son out of the teachings because you want more attention from a higher tournament ranking!?" Autumn accused.
"That will just be an extra treat for me," Val said with a smile.
Autumn took a step towards Val but before she could take another Savage grabbed her arm. She turned to him and he just shook his head.
Ravi took a step between the girls and said, "Not to be disrespectful but Lady Val has zero say about Deamon's place in the teachings."
With a stunned look, Val replied, "What do you mean I have no say? I'm a teacher for the southern group so I should have a say!"
"Ravi is right you don't have a say. Deamon isn't training with you, he's only with us three. Even if he was with you I would still be against your suggestion. The teachings are to help the children grow and learn essential things for life." Hawks explained.
"Even if not for that the child may be gifted in the theory of mysticism or weaponization," Ravi said.
"Yeah! The printmaster of the Golden Hammer tribe of the dwarves has no weaponization skills, but is still one of the most respected members of the tribe." Griff added.
"You two can go, us four have some...things to discuss. You have a nice day." Hawks said while staring at Val.
"We will do just that. Let's go, Autumn." Savage said politely trying not to continue the conversation.
"Nice try Valeria but you miscalculated your worth here. The children will always be more important than you." Autumn got in before leaving the building.
"Whatever." Val scoffed.
As they exited the building Savage felt the tense atmosphere around Thom and Wrath. "Are you guys alright?"
"Oh hey, Savage I was jus..." Before Thom could finish his sentence Wrath grabbed him by the throat and brought him to his knees.
"Oh, what's wrong? Cats got your tongue?" Wrath said before laughing. Wrath then felt a strong hit from his side and he flew about five meters before hitting the ground and jumping upright. "Who did that!? You'll pay for hitting me!"
When he looked back at where he was he could see Savage helping Thom to his feet."It was you? How could you choose this fat cat over your brother and strike me!"
Savage helped Thom to his feet then turned to Wrath and pointed at him. "Because if I hadn't you would be dead."
Wrath looked down and he could start to smell blood. He felt his chest and right where his heart is, was bleeding from a small scratch. When he looked back at Savage and Thom he could see a drop of blood fall from Thom's claws. 'That stupid cat almost killed me? ME!?
Savage took a step in-between them and said, "Wrath go home and take your son as well. This is supposed to be a day for the kids, not a day for you to start trouble."
Baring his teeth Wrath looked away and said, "Fine! Let's go Fang we don't have all day!"
Fang hurriedly ran to his side and replied. "Yes, father."
After he got some distance away Savage turned to Thom. "I know how he is but you can't just kill him in front of the kids like that. If he had actually gotten going then everyone here would have been in danger."
"It would have been fine. I know it wouldn't have killed him, plus you were here to reel him in if he went off the deep end again."
"Why were you two even fighting?"
"Fang and some other kids were trying to pick on Deamon so I asked him to deal with it and he took it as a challenge. He's a hotheaded piece of work that one."
"He is but he's still my brother."
"A brother that's been trying for the leader position since your father gave it up."
"I know, I'll talk to him when he cools off."
"Until then you should talk to Deamon. He's not that strong so you should show him something to help him deal with brawlers at least."
"Dear Thom is right, Deamon hasn't even looked at you since he got tested so he might be afraid you're disappointed in him for not being a brawler like you," Autumn said as she approached.
"I think you're both right. He might be afraid of what I'll say but it's not his fault, he was born this way and he will have to learn to use whatever he can to his advantage." Savage said while looking at Deamon.
"Of course we're right! She's your wife and I'm smarter than you. Just make sure you don't come off as overbearing, just make an offer of it while making it sound like bonding time." Thom lectured.
"And don't be too much for him. He doesn't have the physical abilities of a feral so you will have to hold back and start slower." Autumn added.
Savage was watching Roa talk with Deamon and the others and reassured himself. 'Deamon needs to be strong. It's what's best for everyone, especially himself." Deamon had a cheerful expression on his face but Savage knew that if he didn't try then Deamon would be walked all over by everyone.
