บท 34: Preparations: Beginning

Arriving back home in my room I immediately switched out of my battle gear into my pajama's.

Being comfortable helps me think better.

Once I accomplished this I took my my cellphone and dialed Azazel's number. It rang a few times before he picked up.

"Oh Kufa, what do you need at this hour?" He asked me.

"Yeah, I just killed a guy with an Excalibur. Then after his face ran itself into my fist a few times he mentioned that freak Valper Galelei and also your boy Kokabiel and something about him having an army. Care to comment?"

"..."

"That says it all." I mused. "So, tell me the whole story?" I asked.

"Fine." Azazel said.

He then told me what I basically already knew. Someone had stolen Excalibur fragments from the church, and everyone soon learned they were heading here to Japan. But no one knew exactly who stole them.

But I did. And now Azazel does too.

"That's the situation." Azazel said, ending the story.

"Thanks." I said. "So listen, I'm going to handle Kokabiel and his army." I told him. "I am staying in this town and I am plenty strong enough. Besides, this is the opportunity you've been waiting for right? To push for peace?"

Azazel and I have talked a bunch over the years and he's told me about his plans for peace during those talks. I fully support it. I have come truly see this world as my own. I love my family and friends with all my heart, and I don't want to see them in danger from some extra-universal god.

That's why I will destroy anything in my path that might come to harm them. It's scorched-Earth time.

"Yes, you are right." Azazel said. "Alright, I trust you Kufa. I will let you handle this matter. But if you need any help just contact me and I will send someone right over."

"No, problem. Thanks." I said.

"Don't mention it kid." Azazel said. He then hung up. But not before telling me that Kokabiel's followers number 2,000.

Once he did I headed downstairs and called everyone.

After I did I explained the situation of Kokabiel and his incoming army.

"But why is he coming here of all places?" Valerie asked.

"That elf wannabe is a staunch racist and warmongerer." I said. "He's intending to restart the Great War. He steals the Excalibur fragments from the church, then comes to Kuoh Town and slaughters the little sisters of two of the current Satans along with this towns populace. That will definitely cause war, no matter what anyone tries to do. But we're not going to let that happen."

"Yes, we will stop him." Jeanne said.

"Finally, a real fight. It's been quite a long time." Lancelot said.

"Are we going to inform the devil's?" Gin asked me.

I shook my head. "If we do that then they will pull out of Kuoh Town faster than you can blink. No they need to be kept in the dark so that we can lure Kokabiel in. Otherwise he'll go to ground once more, and then he might come up with an even worse scheme to intact in the future. No, he needs to die as soon as possible. Sure the devil's will be upset, but in the long run they will admit they would have done the same thing if the situation was reversed. Besides, we aren't going to let anyone die."

"But Tsubaki will be-" Gin clamped a hand over his mouth after he spoke Tsubaki's name.

And the way he spoke it...

Everyone looked at him and put knowing smiles on our faces.

"Hey Gin, is Tsubaki the one you have been sneaking off to see?" I asked him.

"No comment." He said.

"Ah, so she is." I said. I then nodded. "Good man. She is definitely a keeper."

"No comment." Gin said.

"I didn't think Gin would have a glasses fetish." Lancelot mused.

"No comment." He spoke.

"So she is the one you have been sneaking out of here late at night." Dominque spoke.

"No co-Hey, how do you know that?" Gin asked. He then got a massive blush on his face.

Ah, this is so wonderful. Now we know why he's been so secretive about his relationship. If it got around school that he is dating one of the four great onee-sama's he would never hear the end of it.

Plus Tsubaki is the stern-type who looks to be quite reserved about personal matters. So I'm sure if she was dating someone got around she will die of utter embarrassment.

Still, I never expected this.

But I'm happy for Gin. Tsubaki is quite the catch.

"Well, what's your business is your business, but you still can't tell her anything." I said. "She will immediately tell Sona. And that would derail the entire operation."

"I know that, but..." Gin sighed. "We are really good, and this might...you know...she might break up with me." He finally said.

I walked over to him and patted him on the shoulder. "If she really cares about you she will not hold this against you. You both have other obligations outside of each other after all. Not to mention she is your girl now and you won't let anything happen to her. So chin up. Because we're going to keep her safe."

Gin nodded.

Once he did I looked at the others. "We have no clue when Kokabiel will show up, so we need to put in extra training."

Everyone nodded.

"Am, not to be a downer, but even if we get Chess and Morgan, are the eight of us really going to be enough to defeat an small army?" Valerie asked.

"We can." I said. "But I'm not taking any chances. That's why I'm going to get us some help." I said.

I then adjourned the meeting and went straight to my room. Then after changing my clothes to formal attire I teleported straight to castle Blackspire.

It's time for Kokabiel to know the wrath of the Progenitor faction.

-------------------------------------

Arriving in the teleportation room I greeted the guard on duty.

I then headed straight for my mother's room.

Arriving I knocked on the doors. "Mother it's me. I need to speak with you about an important matter." I said.

I didn't get a response.

Instead I heard...rustling. And I knew the sound well.

Someone was quickly putting on their clothes.

Five minutes passed before the door opened.

Standing on the other side I saw Lord Ruthven, while my mother stood behind him, a blush on her face.

Meanwhile I was shocked.

I mean I knew Ruthven liked my mother since I was little, but they never showed any signs of being more than close friends and colleagues. And not to brag but I am pretty good at reading people, so the fact they were able to keep this from me and just about everyone shows they are the ultimate masters of keeping their cool.

Mad respect.

"Young lord Kufa, what an unexpected surprise." Ruthven said in an awkward voice.

"Hey, there's no reason to be awkward. You are both grown adults that can do what you want." I said. "It's none of my business."

"Alright then. If you excuse me." Ruthven said. He then looked at my mother. "Krul, I will see you later."

"Yes." She said.

Ruthven then left and I stepped inside, closing the door behind me. I then looked at my mother. "So, how long has that being going on?"

"For about five years now." My mother answered. "I knew he liked me, but I just didn't see him in that light. Then I met your father, he died, and a whole lot of other things happened before I gave him a chance. And well we just clicked." She explained.

"Sometimes it happens like that." I said. "But anyway I have an important matter to speak with you about." I told her.

"Speak away." She said.

I put a silencing spell and then told her everything about Kokabiel, his army, and the imminent attack against Kuoh Town, and about how Azazel gave me permission to deal with it.

Throughout my explanation, my mother listened calmly. But her power kept rising with each word I spoke.

"I see." She said. "So that racist is trying to attack the town my sun is living in? He sure has some brass balls. I can't wait to cut them off."

"Woah mom, calm down." I told her. "You can't go there. It'll cause too much trouble. I am going to handle this. But I need assistance. I need people to cover the civilians, just in case Kokabiel decides to go for broke and move for suicide attacks. So, can you help me out?"

"You have no need to ask." Mom said. "I will gather three squads led by Crowley, Veronica, and Basteya to assist you." She said.

"Thank you." I told her. "Oh, we have no clue when Kokabiel will launch his attack so I need them on standby for the next couple of weeks."

"That will be no problem." My mom spoke.

So with that I took my leave.

I then went straight to Morgan's lab and called Chess and explained the situation to them.

"Ah, finally some fun. It's been so boring as of late." Chess said.

"Yes, I can finally test some new spells I have been working on." Morgan spoke.

"Come to the mansion in Kuoh Town then." I said to them. They nodded.

Once they did I took my leave.

I then headed back to the teleportation room and headed off for my next destination.
