ตอน 9: Chapter 9: Dream
A/N: Okay readers, from here on out the chapters will be focusing more on Arthur and his own adventures for a while.

The Metastasis event.
One of the worst tragedies in the entire Mushoku Tensei story.
The entire Fittoa Region is turned upside down in a single instant. Many of its residents teleported to random locations all across the world. Either ending up slaves or worse, dead.
No one in the region was left unaffected.
Even my own family.
And now I am in the same boat.
Plus to make matters even worse I haven't come up with any way to prevent the Metastasis event from taking place. Nor, do I really think I should.
Because if I did prevent that event from taking place then Nanahoshi and those other two would never appear in this world, throwing events of the near and far future into complete and utter chaos.
Especially in regards to Orsted and the complete defeat of that bastard Hitogami.
So when taking all that into account I have decided to let the Metastatis event play out like it did in the original story.
For the most part that is.

Sitting at the dining table I enjoyed dinner with my family.
Rudeus bringing up how he would like to attend Ranoa Unversity of Magic together with Sylphy in the future.
Him and Paul having the same conservation about Sylphy's tuition and helping Rudeus get a job so he could earn money to pay said tuition himself.
Then as soon as they were done Paul turned his attention to me.
"So Arthur, what about you? Any goals for the future?" He asked me.
"Yes, father." I replied. "Just like you and mother once were I would like to become an adventurer and travel the world in its entirety." I revealed.
Which is not a lie.
Since only a small portion of the Mushoku Tensei world was revealed through the events of the original story. This world is still filled with so many unknowns and I want to experience them first-hand. That's why I want to eventually become an adventurer. Since many of them wander the world just like I intend to do.
Plus becoming one will allow me to make money and hone my combat skills while I am traveling.
So becoming an adventurer for me is like killing three birds with one very big ass stone.
Hearing what I wanted to do with my life Paul, and Zenith, both looked at me. Putting smiles on their faces.
"Arthur sweetie, I think that idea of yours is just wonderful." Zenith told me.
"I do as well." Paul spoke. "But if you're going to become an adventurer then you need to get a lot stronger than you are right now."
"I know that father, and that is why I hope you will continue teaching me." I said. Plastering a smile on my face.
"Sure thing my boy." Paul replied.
After he did we went back to eating our food, and then soon finished up.
Ending the meal on a good note.

A few days after Rudeus and Paul's chat during that meal a carriage arrived.
Then without explaining anything to Rudeus Paul knocked his ass out, tossed him inside of the carriage with Ghislaine, and then sent him on his merry way to Roa. Where he would meet Eris.
'Good luck brother.' I thought.
Since right now at this point in time Eris' personality is the absolute worst.
I don't even want to meet her right now. Since if I did I'm not sure I could restrain myself from beating the girl black and blue until she showed me some respect, or at least treated me like a proper human being.
So yeah, it's better if Rudeus handles her right now and then the two of us meet later in the future.
Once Paul finished up with Rudeus he came back over to me.
"So father, what was that about just now?" I asked him.
"Oh, I simply sent Rudy off to his job. The one he asked me to get him so he could help pay for Sylphy's education." Paul explained.
"Right, and you had to knock him out to do that?" I asked. Giving Paul and flat look.
"Well if I had explained it to him he might've objected to it. So really, what I did just now was the best way the situation could've been handled." Paul explained.
"Sure." I said. Still giving him a flat look.
"Hey Art, can you please stop looking at your old man like that? It feels like you're accusing me of something when you do." Paul spoke.
"I don't know what you mean, father. Anyway, let us return to training." I replied. Still looking at Paul with the flat expression on my face. Ignoring how uncomfortable I am making him.
Call it payback for what he just did to Rudeus.
"Sure." Paul replied.
Thus the two of us returned to our swordsmanship training.

"What?! You mean Rudi's really gone?!" Sylphiette shouted directly into my face. Looking like she's on the verge of tears.
A day has passed since Paul basically threw Rudeus out of the house.
Having come over to play with my brother today Sylphy learned of the events that had taken place, courtesy of yours truly.
"Yes, he is." I replied. Taking a few steps back from Sylphiette. "But don't worry Sylphy, like I said Rudi isn't going to be gone forever. Just for the next five years. Then he'll be back, and then you two can head off to school together." I spoke.
Feeling slightly guilty for lying through my teeth to Sylphiette.
But it's for the greater good.
Besides, what I just said to her is not technically a lie. She and Rudeus will attend school together in the future. Just not in the way they originally planned.
I hope.
Since I really pray my presence in this world doesn't cause a butterfly effect that will cause Sylphiette or anyone else important to the story to end up dead when they are supposed to live.
Now that would be a very bad situation.
"Really Art, do you mean it?" She asked me.
"I do." I replied. "So don't worry."
"O-okay." Slyphiette replied. She then wiped away her tears and put a small smile on her face.
"That's the spirit." I told her. "And hey, even if Rudi is gone you've still got me."
"Right." Sylphiette replied.
The two of us then went outside to play until the sun got ready to set.
