'Robert' and 'Lady Miranda Lacroix' names immediately caught Virginia's attention. She stopped in her traces and let Heather continue.
"So, Robert is looking for a girl he saw at the masquerade ball that took place recently at Countess Harriet's house. He doesn't know her name, he hasn't seen her whole face. He visits every mansion and asks to see the girls of the house," Heather laughed mockingly. "He has become the laughing stock of the city," she added and laughed again.
Virginia looked at her, hiding her sick feeling about that woman's character.
"I find it sweet and wonderful. I don't see anything wrong with all this. What is so funny about someone looking for the woman that interests him? His happiness? Personally, I congratulate him for his courage." Virginia's tone was stern and strict, degrading Heather's behavior.
Heather stopped laughing and lowered her head in shame.
"You're right. I apologize for my inappropriate behavior."
