As the familiar figure of me was presented to my very eyes, I hurriedly took away my gaze from the paper to ask the man a very important question.
"Hey, when was the hero Kyouma last seen?" I ask the man with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh, the ten reincarnates are already back at the royal capital," said the man as he handed me over another paper that dictates the festival happening at the royal capital along with tons of pictures of Kyouma drinking and partying.
"… Thanks," I said and handed him back the paper while I went to enter the adventurer's guild to find a sit to rest on.
"Kyouma" I muttered while sitting down on a vacant chair far from the other rowdy adventurers as I went into my own headspace.
When? When did this happen? How did this happen? Is he me? Is he a fraud? Or is Kyouma now a real entity?
As I racked my brain trying to understand what the fuck was happening, I calmed down and started to think about what happened to lead to this.
"Gasp! The fissure!" I said in a hushed voice as I remembered what I felt back in the void before I lost control, just as I was about to fall unconscious, the familiar feeling of that third ability of mine somehow activated, and then I blacked out.
"It's that ability again, the quirks, the system, the exp, the cheats, wait… even the spirits were given life due to this ability!" I said in shock as I realized that not only did I use this ability subconsciously when I fell unconscious, but I also used this ability for so many things like bringing life to the elementals.
As the truth finally dawned upon my mind, I rubbed my brain at this new question that presented itself to me.
"Exp, cheats, quirks, elementals… How are they all related? There is no indication of what this ability is except for the stuff I can do with it. Is the gacha also a part of this ability?" I muttered with scrunched brows while closing my eyes to fully concentrate.
But soon, a chuckle started to escape my closed mouth as a smirk formed on my face.
"Why worry when you can just enjoy! If Kyouma is me and I am Kyouma, then let's just consider this more challenge and fun. I know he exists but he doesn't I know I also exist so let's just do my previous plans, live here, learn magic, and become rich" I muttered as my worries easily went away because worrying won't change much.
With a nonchalant face, I easily accepted the current situation and now I needed a new game plan now that I don't have to care about my double life as both Kyouma and Kira and now only live as Kira.
"An inn is essential for the earlier days because I'm still homeless and I also need a source of income to earn money, maybe alchemy" I muttered while I stood up from my seat and headed outside the adventurer's guild to find some inns to live at.
And because of the proximity to the Adventurer's Guild and how most adventurers travel from place to place, I easily saw an inn in the distance I could stay at and after checking the price, it was the normal 10 fucking silver coins which deeply hurts my heart and soul.
With a pained soul, I entered the inn and was greeted by a surprisingly advanced ground floor with magical lights similar to light bulbs, assistant golems that were cleaning the place on their own, and more that shows the current state of the Kingdom of Magic, just a simple inn was already this costly, imagine what it would be like for the school inside the kingdom.
As I walked towards the counter, there stood a humanoid golem who looks at me with a blank stare.
"Hey, I'd want to rent a room for a week for now," I said to the golem who nodded and went to sign on a magical tablet.
"That would be 70 silver coins," said the golem in a monotone voice as I nodded in response and gave it 70 silver coins from my pouch which it took, and put the coins inside a secure vault.
"Thank you for the transaction, we hope for you to have a nice stay, here is your room," said the golem while showing me a number while I then nodded in response and headed up the stairs to find my room and as I arrived there, I easily found the door that has my assigned number on top of it.
And as I neared the door, it somehow knows that I am the owner of the room and saw the spell on the handle turning off that allowed me to open it without any problems.
"Wow, automatic identification? How did they even achieve that?" I muttered and entered the room to see a pretty cozy room with advanced magi-tech like a lamplight and a light bulb.
"So this will be my room for the next week, huh, well let's start planning already," I said while I plopped down on my bed head first and felt my body sinking in on the soft cushiony bed.
"Okay, how do I earn money?" I muttered with a muffled voice while plans filled my mind on how to proceed with this dilemma.
"Sigh, let's just join the Mage's Guild, it's basically an Adventurer's Guild but more magical and there are some differences in regards to the quest" I muttered and stood up from my bed to head out of the inn and enter the Mage's Guild.
After a quick look at the map on the wall inside the inn, I saw where the Mage's Guild resided and got out of the inn to go there and join it.
"It would take another gold coin to register for the guild and a few more to buy some spells so I would be broke in a few days, a quest is a must right now" I muttered while I walked towards the Mage's Guild as a short term plan was made in my mind.
Buy some offensive E rank spells, get some hunting quest, hunt some monsters, get money, rinse and repeat.
As I arrived in front of the open entrance of the Mage's Guild where mages like me walk through in amounts inconceivable to other places due to magic being a super hard thing to achieve, and without hesitation, I entered the guild to jumpstart my career as a Mage.
With a quick glance around the pretty large place that could hold 100 people with ease, along with a quest board on the side and a lady over the counter but there was also some other stuff that wasn't inside any Adventurer's Guild.
Like the golems, more floors, and also different systems like being able to buy spells from the guild itself.
With a confident stride, I went towards the girl over the counter to start my registration for the Mage's Guild.
"Hello!" I said with a bright smile as the lady looks at me with a smile.
"What may I help you sir?" asked the lady as I took out a gold coin.
"I'd want to register for the Guild please," I said while handing over the coin to the lady.
"Oh, well please fill out this paper sir," said the lady while taking out a piece of paper that has the normal things like name and other basic stuff.
I hurriedly signed it with the pen she gave me and gave it back to her after a few seconds.
"Now please hold this please," said the lady as she showed me a stick with a square crystal on top of it.
"I just need to pour in all of my mana right?" I asked the lady who nodded in response and grabbed the handle without hesitation and started to pour in all of my mana towards the stick as the letter D soon showed itself on the crystal on top of it.
"Oh, a D rank mage at your age? Quite impressive" said the lady as she signed on a magical tablet with her mana to put me in the database for the Mage's Guild and just like that, the moment she handed me a badge quite different from those of the Adventurer's Guild, I am now officially a part of Mage's Guild.
"Now what does sir want to do next?" asked the lady.
"I would want to buy E rank spells," I said as the lady nodded and gave me a magical tablet that shows a list of spells I could buy and looked through the offensive spells because I am severely lacking in that area right now.
And after a while, I chose Wind Cutter, Water Whip, and Fire Pillar. Then I also bought the other three elemental ball spells that I didn't have already and all of them cost me about 1 gold and 20 silver, the majority of the cost being the E rank offensive spells.
"Here you go sir, remember to not disclose the contents of the spell scrolls to the public nor anyone else, the guild will know if you do that," said the lady as she handed me a stack of scrolls while I nodded in response and put it inside a paper bag to carry around with.
And with that, I can officially start my life as Kira, the holder of the Akashic Records.
