Ary turned to another page and silently pointed at a group of Etchings. Xasha scanned over them, and his eyes lit up. "Is this what I think it is?"

"It's better." Ari boasted, "Remember, the gate really only has one spell to cast. It may be complicated and has a lot of components, but it is one nonetheless. Therefore, the conduit need not have a complex injection system. We designed the sequence needed to perform that single spell and nothing more." She finished with a triumphant smile.

"This Etching took us a few weeks to make. There was a lot of trial and error, but we succeeded sooner than expected. We had to redesign the structure of the gates to accommodate the conduit. Then we had to reconfigure our Etchings to make the diamond the focal point. See?" She turned the page and pointed out the things she mentioned.
