As before, the vision began with Kai kneeling upon one knee before Elliot. Behind him were endless fleets of starships of every single design conceivable.

In his vision, Elliot could see himself looking at Kai and the starships coldly, as though they were criminals, and not underlings awaiting his permission.

"Have you given this more thought, as I have asked you to?" Elliot could hear himself asking.

"I have, Master. My destiny awaits. I cannot run from it anymore. Forgive me for not being able to stay by your side anymore." Kai said with his head bowed.

Elliot merely stared at him with his cold expression.

Suddenly, Kai reached out and grabbed his right arm with his left hand.

"As a sign of my filial piety for you, I will leave my right arm here, and I swear never to regrow it until I return home to your side!" Kai said fervently and ripped out his right arm at the same time.
