Phase 2, as I like to call this moment, began. With his torso now resembling a fire elemental, I knew that although it would cause him damage it would no longer be the same. Lava elementals have this dual body manifestation that allows them to resist fights for a long time, as their dense state allows them to negate some of the damage they receive, plus it's also a natural fire shield, so every hit I make also causes damage to me.
*sigh*
Luckily I have strategies for this after facing several lava elementals. I could use it right now, but I guess I'll let the fight drag on longer. I still have a few things I want to test against it. This sort of thing is why I sometimes enjoy fighting lava elementals, as it allows me to try out some attacks I come up with.
I struck the first blow. I started attacking his head, but he dodged. Now he wasn't as heavy as before so his speed increased a bit and he could dodge. Not that I minded if he did. With a whip one of my tentacles hit his head, so even though he dodged he couldn't do it with the other parts of me that are faster. He sent a blow towards me that I received with my fist. His body still has stone parts, only his torso is now made of lava, so his fists still hit hard, but almost as fast, maybe a little slower because his current body can't exert the same pressure as before.
This time 2 lashes struck in succession. He was getting annoyed, but managed to keep his mind. It seemed he wouldn't lose control this time... a pity. The next attack he made was a column of lava that pushed me backwards. This time there was no second lava column, so I'm sure he wants to create distance while throwing lava balls at me. I resent cowardly enemies, they come in to fight when they think they're strong, but when they're losing they want to retreat. I WILL NOT LET MY FOOD ESCAPE!
To prevent him from retreating, what I did was the same thing he did to me. I cast the lava column spell to prevent him from escaping by hitting him in the shoulder, so he was forced to come towards me, and thanks to his slightly lighter weight and how he was hit, he came spinning around as the force translated his horizontal movement... It's very funny to see this kind of thing in a battle, but I've learned where to hit to achieve the effects I'm looking for.
The elemental fell dizzy, perfect timing. I threw 2 lava balls at his face that hit the target beautifully. The elemental got up as soon as he received them, apparently the blows cured his dizziness. He responded by throwing more lava balls at me and retreating at the same time.
I didn't allow it as I used one of the oldest spells I have, "Earth Wall". As he didn't watch where he was going he crashed backwards into the wall. He was surprised when he realized that something was blocking his path, but when he turned around to see what it was, I took advantage of it and threw 2 more lava balls at his face. He blocked them both with his arms. I guess he realized I was aiming specifically at his head.
Seeing himself cornered the lava elemental hit the earthen wall hard hoping to destroy it to continue... And he succeeded. I almost laughed at his feelings of disbelief when he realized how easy it was, but I didn't make those walls with the intention of making them hard to destroy, but easy to use and cheap in mana, all to keep my enemy occupied for a moment.
If the lava elemental had realized this, I'm sure it would have tried to do the same to me, but in its eagerness to flee it didn't take advantage of another opportunity to learn and again retreated while attacking me with lava balls.
My laughter echoed across the battlefield after the elemental collided with an earthen wall a moment later. But it was too late to try to retreat, it was already cornered.
"You won't be able to run away, coward," I said and with both arms raised I hit him over the head with all the force I could muster. His rock skull rattled.
*CRAAACK CRACK*
Now his head was like that of a fire elemental, for his rocky skull had been destroyed.
"I WILL NEVER FALL, DIE!"
The fire elemental roared at me and lunged at me. I didn't understand its intention, but I wouldn't allow it to approach me like that, so I decided to use a stalagmite of earth, piercing it and preventing it from being able to throw itself at me without first getting out of where it was. Since I knew he wouldn't be able to move very well, I hit his shoulders and in the process pushed him further and further into the stalagmite.
He lava elemental seeing that I couldn't get out of his uncomfortable situation threw a blow at me, which I easily deflected, as his barely gathered strength wouldn't do anything to me.
"AAARGH, SET ME FREE!"
His movements became erratic and he was throwing punches at me as fast as he could, but I didn't care anymore. I used my tentacles to deflect the attacks or parry them, which they did with some effort. At one point both of its shoulders crumbled as well. I was turning the lava elemental into a fire elemental with every piece of rock in its body I destroyed. At least in bodily appearance.
As soon as I finished with his shoulders I moved on to his arms and hands. When I finished the lava elemental went from its earth elemental form of volcanic stone, to the form of a fire elemental with drops of lava falling from its body to the ground. My test gave me quite unique results.
Since this isn't a game anymore, I wanted to test if hitting him continuously would drain his life and he would die, but it turns out that composite elementals aren't that easy to assassinate. By destroying his stone "armor", I released the lava that was contained inside him or so I understand it, I don't know if there's another process involved. Maybe release his essence? It seems that his current form is not very stable. Drops of lava are continuously falling from his body? I will know that after I research more about elementals and see in detail everything that happened from my memory in my mind space.
With its current liquid form I allowed the lava elemental to get out of the stalagmite, because at some point it was no longer attacking. As soon as it came out the first thing it did was throw a bigger ball of lava at me than usual, and when it hit me I realized that it was also more powerful. Too bad that, even though it tried to retreat, its speed had slowed down. With another abnormally sized lava ball I decided to answer him with another lava ball to try to neutralize the attack.
My surprise almost became tangible when I saw how the ball of lava that I had just thrown was swallowed by the ball of lava that the elemental threw and continued its way towards me as if nothing. For a moment it seemed to have faded a little, but soon regained its strength and I can even believe that its power increased.
Since I couldn't evade it since it was too late, I decided to hit it with all my strength with my left arm. When it hit my arm, I heard the sound of the stone cracking.
*CRAACK CRACK*
That fireball had destroyed the volcanic stone that made up my arm and hands. His elemental attacks were dangerous in this form. So fearing that if it continued I would be forced to lose more stone parts of my body, I decided that I would kill it at once. Using all my strength I threw a lava cannonball at him which I did quickly. The cannonball hit his chest and exploded effectively killing the lava elemental that was in its weakest state.
*SIGH*
*BOOOOM*
Relaxing at last after putting all my attention on my battle with the lava elemental, I heard again the explosions of the frustrated attacks of "Ragnaros, the Eternal Enraged" on "Therazane, the Immovable Mountain". Hahaha.
I collected the "Core" of the lava elemental, which is a red-hot volcanic stone. And its essences, which are semi-hardened lava drops. But there was more, lava elementals also release some minerals that are formed in them. They are small rocks composed of minerals that are melted and compressed in their bodies. These 'minerals' are also useful to me. Not only did they add mass to my body, but they also further helped me recover from my injuries.

Absorbing everything, I recovered part of the stone that made up my left arm. Now I have to hunt some earth and fire essences to finish recovering. Anyway, my research yielded results, though some of them were a bit unexpected.

Why I started destroying the stones that made up their bodies was because it had already happened in the previous fights I had had with these elementals. I found it strange and fascinating to see how their bodies filled the spaces with lava and continued fighting as if nothing, with only a few casualties in power or few limitations.
*BOOOOM*
Also because when I was evolving I knew "instinctively" how my next body should be. In the beginning I allowed part of the evolution to take its course, even though it hurt too much, but I had to know how my body would change without the need of my ability so that when I involved the ability it wouldn't be something strange or that could negatively impact me. Cautious elemental is worth 3.

Then, my body evolved by changing the elemental content of the stones in my body, but they gathered to a greater extent in the cores of my body. When I understood that my lava elemental body would not be so different from my current one, I decided to intervene and use my ability to acquire my current form which is a mixture of both forms.
*BOOOOM*
But I'm glad to know something new. This world is very different from the game, some things are similar, but some things are so different that it's surprising and interesting. This dark and dangerous universe is not, nor will it be easy on anyone, but it's interesting and liberating at the same time, because I know there is so much more to see out there. So much I can accomplish, so much I can do with my powers.

Whenever I saw how heroes and enemies used their powers in the WOW game, I always thought they didn't fully utilize the usefulness of their abilities. Some abilities had such great versatility that when they made use of that ability in certain ways I was amazed, but I also wondered, why do they only use it now, what limitations does that magic really present to not do it more continuously...?
*BOOOOM*
When I think about it, a great deal of anticipation wells up inside me. When I finally acquire these powers, what will I do, how will I use it, will I become a "God"? With the knowledge I have of the history of Warcraft I know that "Aegwynn" was able to defeat "Sargeras". Even if it was an avatar and not the real one, using a power obtained from some of the most powerful wizards and with the help of dragons, but still, he defeated a Titan! And not just any titan, the most powerful titan in the Pantheon!
To me that says a lot about how truly powerful the beings in this universe can be. I can't underestimate any of them either, the curse of the dark gods was nothing more than their own undoing. I wonder if when they died they were able to understand that it was their own stupidity that lead them to the inescapable fate of death?
*SIGH*
Don't get ahead of yourself, calm down. I must keep calm and not succumb to ambition. I will be what I must be and do what I must do to live as I wish. But for now, I need more essence.

Author's Note: As promised, this is today's second chapter. Tomorrow I'll update one more chapter and I'll update another one from my original novel, what did you think of this chapter? I invite you to comment, because every comment is an incentive for me to continue writing. I wish you a great day or a good night ^^.
The 8 comments were made in a combination of WebNovel and Wattpad. But I'm glad to have people commenting. Keep it up ^^.
By the way, comment here ideas of names, both masculine and feminine. The stranger the better, I don't like common names and for the WOW universe they don't work anyway XD.
