Chapter 081
Since he had received his system, Alex knew that it was special. No one could see it except for him and the system updates and boosts he would get from time to time made him feel like someone was watching over him.
To top it off, his system was not even detected by the Tower of Eraskis. So, he had made a conclusion that even his clone won't be able to copy it.
Just because a system like this was too powerful and at least in Marvel, balance between powers was really necessary.
It has also worked.
His clone wasn't able to understand why his sword had suddenly changed trajectory. The mana thread attached to it was invisible and one could only try to sense it. Even then, it was not easy at all.
Because of that, it was an expensive item but it was also worth it.
'I wonder what kind of reward I will get from this round.'
He thought as he saw his clone slowly turning into red shards. The expression on his clone's face was blank like the life inside was already dead.
Alex felt like he was seeing himself die since the clone was basically him but tried not to think too much about it.
In the distance, the clone wolf was also turning into shards and Alex's wolf looked proud after defeating someone who was basically an 'imposter'.
At that moment, notifications popped up in front of him.
[You have killed your own clone. You have achieved something that only three people before you have been able to do.]
[The title 'Better than his shadow' has been granted. 'Invisible stats' Charm and Luck has been increased by 5.]
[You have cleared 'Level 7' of the Tower of Eraskis.]
[Congratulations! You have been granted a special skill 'Ticket to live'.]
"Wow! The rewards are way better than I thought."
Alex muttered going over the notifications. The first notification gave him information that only three people before him had reached Level 8 via the other two paths of the Tower.
The second notification was about his second title. Like video games, Tower of Eraskis also granted him titles and they had the ability to increase his stats.
'It's the first time I'm hearing about invisible stats. Am I more handsome now?'
He thought as he touched his face but there was nothing weird. Maybe it was something that only others can notice or the change was just too small.
Moving on, he looked at his new skill.
"Ticket to live?"
Alex muttered, unsure of what it means and pulled up the skill information.
___
*Ticket to live (No level)
– After dying, you can use the ticket to resurrect your body. There's a chance of side effects after resurrection.
– It can only be used once.
– The ticket is bound to the user and it can't be used on anyone else.
– A special ticket granted by the god of death.
___
"What the fuck…"
Alex wasn't able to stop himself from cursing after reading the information. The ticket was basically the strongest skill in his arsenal.
After all, almost nothing can be done to stop death but with this ticket, he could resurrect.
It could only be used once but that was already more than enough. Asking for more would practically break the balance of the world.
'With this, I would be fine even if I fail a Level.'
Alex thought and walked towards the door.
A golden light enveloped him as he put his hand on it and with that, he started his quest to conquer Level 8 of the Tower of Eraskis.
* * *
In a world devoid of any light, Loki, the god of mischief was kneeling in front of a clothed, armoured figure.
He was known as The Other, the personal servant of the Mad Titan and today, his master has asked him to hand over an important artifact to Loki.
The Other felt happy about it as his master's plans were finally beginning to start. They just needed the six stones and they could achieve whatever they wanted.
Loki was going to collect one of them for his master.
"The Tesseract has awakened. It is on a small world, a human world. They would wield its power…"
The Other slowly said, holding a staff in his hands. It was called the Scepter, holding powers that others would never imagine.
He looked down upon Loki who smiled upon seeing the Scepters.
He slowly held the Scepter in his hands, feeling it's power between his fingers as the Other continued.
"But our ally knows its workings as they never will. He is ready to lead and our force, our Chitauri, will follow."
He turned behind him and gazed upon millions of alien soldiers standing there. No, there were more. Billions, maybe trillions.
An alien race controlled by his master called Chitauri.
They were brainless and ready to follow any orders. To wreak havoc upon the lower worlds. They just needed a portal to go through and the Tesseract would be the medium to open it.
"The world will be his. The universe, yours. And the humans, what can they do but burn?"
The Other spoke slowly and Loki's smile just grew wide. His ambition to control humans and rule over them was on the brink and it had brought him to seek the help of someone who was clearly dangerous.
But Loki was confident in his abilities.
"Your master will not be disappointed."
He said slowly and The Other nodded his head, content.
With this army, there was nothing stopping Loki from burning the whole earth down. After all, the human's planet wasn't technologically advanced enough to stop something like an alien invasion.
They would need way more than tanks and missiles to do anything to an army of trillions.
Unfortunately, The Other didn't take in account some individuals who were living their own life but were soon going to come together to stop something that no one thought was possible.
After all, it was the world's will and the true God seeing it all wanted the same.
