บท 6: Going Out
As the day of the party is getting closer and closer, Ren and her mother went out to buy new clothes for the party. Ren's also curious about what does it look like outside their estate.
Two people are now currently facing each other in a carriage. In front of Ren was her mother who is holding a fan and elegantly fanning herself. Looking around inside the carriage, it was bigger than ordinary carriages. The red colored leather seat is soft and comfortable to seat on. Inside the carriage there's also a small table where a teapot and two teacups were arranged with some sweets. Ren looked outside the window then she took a biscuit from the plate and thought to herself 'Compared to the cars in my past life this carriage is much slower but it's still good and comfortable' she bit and ate the biscuit.
While she's looking outside she saw people walking around. Some people wore ordinary clothes while some of them were wearing fancy clothes. Ren remembered from the book she read that commoners and nobles in this world are getting along well but there are still some nobles who think they're better than commoners.
Inside the carriage was quiet and peaceful, you can barely hear the sounds outside. "Ren" her mother called, the voice was soft and comfortable to listen to. Ren looked at her mother "Yes mother?". Ren's mother was fanning her face while looking at her "Is there any place that you're interested to go after buying at the clothes shop with me?"
Ren was slightly surprised by what her mother asked her but she thought for a moment. She looked at the tea in the teacup, there was a silence as the carriage kept on moving forward.
"Hm...Can i go to a blacksmith shop?" While training everyday at the training grounds, Ren got acquainted with the other knights. They talked about other things such as their past missions, battles and etc. Ren also heard that they all go to a blacksmith shop to buy a premade sword or order a customized one, ever since she heard about it she wanted to visit the blacksmith shop.
Ren's mother thought for a moment and smiled "Ofcourse" Ren looked at her mother who is laughing softly as if remembering something "Back when i'm still a magic knight like your father, me and your father went to a blacksmith shop together to buy our new swords" Ren's mother sighed and placed a palm on her cheek while sighing slightly "I missed those days...Oh! I'll bring you to that blacksmith shop! it's been so long since i've visited that old man" Her mother chuckled.
Ren was surprised when her mother told her that she's a magic knight before...Her mother looked petite and soft and there's no sign that she could fight if you looked at her. "Mother, If you don't mind me asking...Why did you quit being a knight?..."
"Hmm..." Her mother tap her chin while looking up as if she's thinking "I honestly just wanted to join as a magic knight out of curiosity but they wanted me to become a captain after doing different missions and battles so i quit and because of that your father chased after me for 2 years pleading me to come back but i don't want to go back then we got married after a while" Ren's mother touched her cheeks and smiled shyly while blushing.
"Eh?...Mother...You mean that you're stronger than father?" Ren was dumbfounded by what she heard.
"Hmm...Well you're father never won against me once before so maybe?" Ren was even more dumbfounded.

After an hour they've arrived to their destination. First to go out of the carriage with the help of their butler was Ren's mother then after that she went out by herself.
Ain approached the somewhat weird looking Ren, she was riding at the other carriage with the butler earlier so she's not with Ren. Her young master right now looked funny and can't help but ask "Are you okay young master?"
Ren came back to her senses and looked at Ain "Oh uh yeah...I was just shocked about something" Ain nodded to her answer and headed inside the clothes shop with her.
Looking inside the shop there are lots of different clothes displayed. Her mother approached a dress and touched the fabric. "Lady Lenxington, it's been a while!" A woman...No a man? wearing female clothes approached them with great enthusiasm, the person looked really beautiful and their hair is long and silky but her voice is slightly deeper compared to other women. Looking at the person, as a person from different world in her past life she already understood.
"Ah yes! it's been so long Mira!" Ren's mother smiled brightly and held both of Ren's shoulders, showing her to Mira "I came here with my daughter for new clothes for the upcoming party, can you help us pick?"
Mira clapped their hands while smiling "Ofcourse and Absolutely!" They started to get Ren's measurements and her mother's measurements.
"We have 2 new suits suited for your daughter's sizes and we also have lots of dresses in your size Lady Lenxington. Do you want to try and check them out?" Ren's mother nodded and they all headed to a room.
Inside the room Ren was with Ain, Her mother and her mother's two other maids. The butlers and the guards were left outside. "Ren can you choose the dress that i'll wear at the party?" Ren's mother asked her while looking at her, Ren didn't see any problem with it so she nodded and agreed "Okay mother".
The door opened and Mira was with their staffs who's carrying 2 sets of suits and 1, 2, 3...20 dresses! 'Wait aren't there too many dresses?!' Ren thought to herself and looked at her mother in horror who is smiling cheerfully while looking at the dresses.
Looking at the 2 suits, they both are suits for young boys at her age and one of them was paired with shorts while the other was with slacks. The suit paired with a white shorts was color white with blue linings and if a boy wears it there'll be a vibe of a 'young master' while the suit paired with a black slacks was also color black with blue linings and there's a slightly 'matured' air around it if worn.
"Hmm...Ain what do you think should i choose?" Ren looked at Ain, waiting for her answer "I think they both looked good in you young master" Ain smiled. After getting along for a while, Ain became a bit comfortable while being with Ren.
"I see...I'll try them right now and please help me check which suits me more Ain" Ren said as she picked the white suit first "Okay young master, I'll do my best to help you" Ain slightly bowed then Ren headed to the fitting room to change.
Ain was waiting for Ren to come out then the door of the fitting room opened. The person who came out from the door have a silver bluish hair that matched her white suit. Ren walked towards Ain "How do i look? Does it look weird on me?" Ren blinked twice.
Ain was speechless for a while, usually her young master always wore a suit but looking at her right now was slightly different she looked..."You look cute young master..." Ain's cheeks were slightly pink and her heart was beating fastly but she managed to calm herself down.
'cute huh?...But i don't want to look cute' Ren thought to herself as she picked the other suit "I see, Thanks for the compliment i guess" Ren smiled a bit brightly at Ain. When Ren turned around, Smokes started to go out from Ain and her face was hot "y-you're welcome young master" she said while looking down.
Inside the fitting room, Ren looked at herself in the mirror. Her silver bluish hair's short like a boy and her eyes that looked lazy were azure blue 'Although this face looked beautiful, it also looked handsome isn't it?' Ren thought to herself. After changing her clothes, she opened the door to go out. There she saw Ain who's once again speechless with slight pink tint on her cheeks.
Ren walked towards Ain, her beautiful silver bluish hair slightly fluttered every step and her her eyes that looked lazy looked at Ain "What do you think Ain?" Ren blinked as she asked.
Ain slightly bit her lower lip and looked away in embarrassment, her face was red again "You looked...Cool young master". Ren thought that Ain's cute when she's embarrassed so she thought of teasing her but dispersed the idea.
"I guess i'll picked this one then" Ain nodded and remained silent. Ren looked at her mother who is looking at the dresses. Some staff took away the other dresses but there's still some left. Ren approached her mother "Mother" she called. Her mother turned to look at her with a slight surprise "It suits you Ren~ fufu" Ren slightly nodder her head "Thank you mother and i'll pick this one" she smiled slightly looking at her mother.
"Oh right Ren! Help me choose from these dresses" Her mother showed 12 dresses "I'll go try them and tell me which suits me more okay??" Ren's mother happily walked to the fitting room with her maids who are carrying a dress. Ren who looked at her mother speechless "..."
After trying all 12 dresses it was already afternoon, Ren was mentally tired because she had to pick one from all 12 dresses which all looked beautiful in her beautiful mother. Among the 12 dresses, Ren chose the simple yet elegant looking royal blue dress, it's design is not too fancy but it was enough to make her mother looked even more beautiful.

After going out of the shop they decided to eat lunch at one of the restaurants. The food there was delicious and it might be considered a dish in a five star restaurant in Ren's past life. When they finished eating, Ren followed her mother to an alleyway. They stopped in front of an old shop, above the shop there's a a sword and shield logo.
Her mother first entered the door and a sound of a small bell rung when she opened the door, Ren just followed her mother inside. Looking inside the shop there are lots of weapons hanging into the wall, there are swords, Axes, Lances, Hammers and etc. There are also different types and sizes of armors. Ren looked around even more and saw shelves with knives and other weapons. On the side of the shop there's a counter and an old man with beard and muscular body.
"Old man it's been a long time!" her mother called the man on the counter who is reading a book. "Oh is that you gorilla girl?!" The man looked at her mother with a surprised and happy look, Her mother laughed and pouted "I'm not a gorilla you old man!" The old man laughed, amused.
"It's been a long time since i saw you with your husband, he just took his sword yesterday so how can i help you by the way?" The old man looked at Ren and made an 'Oh!' sound "Is that your daughter that i've been hearing from your husband?"
Ren's mother nodded and puffed her chest proudly "Yes, her name is Ren. She's cute isn't she?? fufu".
The old man nodded and asked "I wonder if you're strong like your mother" her mother made a 'tsk tsk' sound.
"She may be young but she's strong too! And we're here to pick a sword for her" Ren's mother said in a proud voice. The old guy stroked her beard in amusement "I see".
"You can go and look around young lady" The old man said with a smile, looking at Ren. "Okay and thank you sir?..."
"Greg, just call me old man Greg young lad" Ren nodded and smiled. The old man looked like the type of a good grandpa so Ren felt comfortable with him.
Ren's mother talked to the old man Greg as she looked around at the swords. She walked and walked until she reached the corner of the shop. In this corner there's different types of huge swords that looks heavy.
She looked around even more and found a wooden box. The box was long and big enough to fit many swords in it, Ren opened the box and saw different types of beautiful swords but what caught her eye was the sword similar to her chokuto sword in her past life.
She picked it up and took a look. She pulled the sword from it's black sheath that's made from a hard and sturdy wood. When she pulled out the sword and she saw it's black blade that didn't seem made out of metal, it looks like it's made out of black gemstone but it was smooth and sharp. Ren tried to swing the sword and feel that the handle feels comfortable to hold on to. The slash was also smooth when it was swung. Even though the blade is made out of some kind of gemstone, it looks tougher than metal.
Ren decided to choose this sword, When she approached her mother and old man Greg who's talking to each other, She showed them the sword "I choose this one" The old man slightly widened his eyes.
"Young lad can you tell me why you chose that?" The old man Greg somehow looked serious while looking at Ren. She became somewhat nervous 'Is this sword cursed or something?...'
"Uhm...When i saw this sword i was somewhat fascinated...And when i tried swinging it for a bit it felt like it suited me somehow..." Ren looked at the serious old man Greg who somehow softened his expression.
"I see...Well you see young lad, That sword is actually the last masterpiece of my master before he passed away. Nobody really wanted to buy that sword because they all thought it's weird and all so i decided to hide it and keep it as one of my treasured swords".
Ren blinked "Oh sorry...I'll just go pick ano-" The old man Greg stopped her "Please, just take that sword. I'm sure that my master will be happy if he knew that his masterpiece was chosen and picked by you" Old man greg smiled and patted Ren's head. 'He was really like a gentle grandpa' Ren thought.
The sword was given to Ren for free by old man Greg then she and her mother headed home.

About the suit that Ren chose, don't you think it suit her style more or the other suit her more? What do you think?
About the sword uhm...I first thought that maybe i should made it into a cursed sword or something? but i decided to just let it be a normal (probably) sword.
