บท 7: Chapter 7 - Pot and Soil

Well that was a warm welcome…

𝑊𝑎𝑟𝑚… Hahaha.

Thankfully, my awesome Pot protected me from that fiery bastard over there who now seems comatose.

Yes, that indestructible shield around me was not my work, as much as I wanted it to be.

It was Pot's and that was the first time he had acted.

I had my suspicions that Pot had 𝑎𝑤𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠 like myself and others back at the courtyard, but never had confirmation until now.

𝑂ℎ 𝐴𝑙𝑚𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡𝑦 𝑃𝑜𝑡, 𝐼 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑘 𝑌𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝐺𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑖𝑜𝑢𝑠 𝑀𝑎𝑗𝑒𝑠𝑡𝑦 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑡𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝐵𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑎𝑖.

Instantly, I felt the door in my mental space exploding and something entering it.

It was a black ceramic pot.

"Hmph! I am pleased you know your place, Dwarf Tree! I only created that shield because God Gan's fingerprints are on me and I shall not allow anything to touch, smudge, or even worse, remove them! If that were to happen, I'd have no more reason to be alive and would immediately kill myself! That worm down there tried to invade my barrier and got warned with a light slap! Next time, 𝐈 𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐥 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐲!" Pot's rough voice resonated like thunder in my mental space, almost making the structure collapse under his roar.

Appearing in front of him, I said, "It is an immense pleasure to finally have the grace to meet Sir Celestial Pot! I must say, this weak one does not deserve the treatment God Gan gave me by making you my home. I am incredibly grateful for your protection."

One of the things that makes me special is that, while not afraid of Pot, I understand that it's best to not antagonize him for now and just continue to profit from having him as my home, at least until I can be sure going against Pot is an option where I am certain I'll come out alive and staying with him is something that doesn't benefit me anymore.

Then, with a flash of divine light, a small pile of soil appeared besides Pot.

Naturally, I instantly deduced who it was and gave the Soil a bow that befitted someone of its caliber.

Though 𝐧𝐨𝐭 afraid of them, they still hold absurd power beyond my current imagination, so treating them with the uttermost respect was a given.

I'm absolutely not afraid of a being that can make me become past tense with a thought! Never mind two of them!

"Celestial Soil, as I have just said to Sir Celestial Pot, it is my life's greatest pleasure to finally meet you after having enjoyed the benefits of having you both with me since the birth of my spirit."

Different from Pot, Soil had a much more feminine and sweet voice, though her words still had the power to make anyone feel inferior to her.

"I am also pleased to finally contact you, Bonsai. Ignore this deranged Pot, he thinks he is superior to all but God Gan and Saint Ted. I, on the other hand, am much smarter than him and fully recognize your potential & value and can gladly say you have a dormant power several times more magnificent than ours. It is our job to ensure you remain alive and to slowly awaken this formidable power of yours, as per God Gan's wish."

𝑊𝑜𝑤… Lady Soil is so kind.

I feel touched. Not on the level I was when God Gan chose me, but still touched.

I don't think I'll ever have such strong emotions that will surpass the moment God Gan chose me.

Wow, I've just come to the realization that from that moment on, my life will be going downhill forever.

I'm not even a year old and have already reached my life's peak!

Anyways, just having absolute confirmation from Lady Soil that I have a monstrous slumbering potential is delightful and is an instant mood booster.

Odin remained looking at the Pot for quite some time before deciding to just leave it be for now, seeing as he didn't even have the power to sense what was inside that artifact.

Clearing his mind of this matter, he finally smiled.

He had done it!

He and his army had gone against the inevitable… 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐧!

Though that is not to say they had completely stopped Ragnarök, but they had surely bought at least a couple thousands years more!

Those couple thousand more years could then be used for planning and once again delaying it more in the future!

That's what Odin was counting on, at least, and with this in mind, he grabbed the Eternal Flame from near Surtur's body and walked back to his troops while deep in thought.

The Eternal Flame was a source of incredible power upon which the Lord of Muspelheim had been drawing upon for ages.

Amongst its several capabilities, the Eternal Flame could resurrect others and was of special importance to Surtur, for if his Crown was placed on top of it, he could be summoned or, if dead, resurrected and brought to full power, enabling him to unleash the fabled Ragnarök, the end of Asgard.

"This is not over, Odin…" Surtur weakly said, finally regaining his senses.

Odin stopped and closed his eyes before sighing, "I know."

Then, he rejoined his people and all returned to Asgard.

Once in Asgard, a large feast was announced to commemorate the great and historic victory of their Kingdom.

People from all over the Realm heard of the news and celebrated in their own way.

In the middle of Asgard, overlooking the Rainbow Bridge, was the Royal Palace of Valaskjalf, an enormous golden structure where existed the Throne Room, several bedrooms and chambers, and most important of all, Odin's Vault.

This was where Odin stored many of the exotic valuables he had stolen, captured, or bought throughout his life.

In fact, most items in the Vault were there due to their possible role in bringing about Ragnarök, an event which Odin was 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐟𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐟.

At the moment, he stood inside the Treasure Room with his wife and Queen of Asgard, Frigga by his side.

"I am telling you, Frigga, whatever that 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 was… it's simply beyond my power. I received the same feeling of powerlessness as when I am near that." Odin indicated towards a glowing blue cube in the end of the room that exuded endless capability, "And it was as if, for a moment, I saw where 𝑖𝑡 came from… a disturbance in several layers of our reality which caused the space-time of two universes to 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞. Someone or some𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 out there had the power to momentarily fuse two completely different realities and send 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 here. To a being of such power, existence itself becomes its toy and I can't help worrying about its intentions." Odin explained his worries as he found an empty pedestal and placed the Eternal Flame atop it.

Frigga thought for some moments and said, "You are right in being wary, my love, but there is nothing you can do to stop it if 𝑖𝑡 decides otherwise. As you just said, for someone with that level of power, existence itself becomes its plaything, so what use would it be for us to try to understand the intentions of such a higher entity? We'd simply be wasting effort for nothing.

"I advise you to attempt to form a good relationship with 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 if it shows any signs of intelligence or, if it doesn't, safeguard it by bringing it here as opposed to anything else. I cannot explain why, but I have a feeling that these next few years will be extremely crucial for us and our people and there will come a time where you will face a tough decision. Maybe 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 is the cause."

This conversation had the power to affect the entire Kingdom, maybe even the Universe, so Odin was carefully listening to everything Frigga was saying as other than Queen of Asgard, she was also known as the Wisest Person in Asgard.

How they decided to approach the entity that had the form of a pot was of paramount importance.

"You are right. Thank you." Odin said, feeling a weight being removed from his shoulders.

His wife was right; why worry about the intentions of such a being if he couldn't do anything anyway? If it wanted them dead, then they'd be dead and there would be nothing he could do to stop it. The opposite was also true. In fact, it is not wrong to say that they were alive simply because 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 wanted them alive.

This realization helped Odin relax a lot.

"My wife, let us return and begin the feast in celebration of our victory." Odin extended his hand and the beautiful mature woman grabbed it, leaving with him.

Along the way, several soldiers knelt as they passed.

Reaching the Banquet Hall, Odin saw the 50-seat table already organized with everyone in their respective seats.

Several of the most notable Aesir sat there, discussing with each other different topics.

Upon noticing Odin's and Frigga's arrival, they all quickly stood up and remained in silence, waiting for them to take the head seats.

As the King and Queen arrived on their seats, Odin grabbed his already filled cup of wine and raised it.

"Today, we took a major step towards stoping Ragnarök. With the defeat of Surtur and his detestable Fire Demons, we were able to take the Eternal Flame and add thousands of years more to our Kingdom! The events that took place today will be spoken about for ages to come! The brave men and women; warriors and soldiers who were brought to Valhalla's Halls today will bask in the tales of our triumph for eternity as they drink ale from curved horns! We shall mourn but also rejoice for those who have died the glorious death! 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐀𝐒𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐃!"

All raised their cups of wine and shouted in unison.

"""𝑭𝑶𝑹 𝑨𝑺𝑮𝑨𝑹𝑫!"""
