บท 20: A worthy challenge?

After we arrived at our destination, which was a few blocks from the SHIELD Headquarters, Fury looked at me one last time, before handing me a device.

"It's a communication device, no one can interrupt its signal, and communications can only be done from one end to another, meaning only the device in your hands can be communicated through the device in my hands" he explained as quickly as he could.

"We will be using it to send information to one another" he explained once again.

"I guess this will be the last time we will be meeting face to face, until stuff are a little cleared up" I said which Fury nodded to.

"Well, if you can do me the honors of getting off, I'll be on my to destroying some Hydra bases" I grinned, which caused Fury to roll his eyes.

"While you are doing that, I'll be ratting out some Hydra bitches" Fury replied, Hydras actions weren't the only thing we found out, a little information of Hydra agents disguised as SHIELD agents, we're also found, till now I still wondered, why were those two carrying such heavy information, that was something I would I have to look into.

"I'll be on my way now" Fury announced as he exited the car, only to dissappear into the crowd of people walking by the sidewalk.

"Now... to begin the hunt" I smirked to myself ' I think I'm enjoying this, a little more than I need to' I thought to myself.

The moonlit light of Manhattan shone with unusual vigor, as the frame of a man stood ontop of a building, hands in pockets, and visible pistols in the pockets of his black jean jacket.

3...2...1..." as if on cue, a little explosion went off infront of him, which ofcourse caused a hole.

"Time to raise hell" the man muttered with a smile on his face as he jumped into the hole. Leonardo Acker, was about to raise hell.

"Stop right there!" a voice thundered as Leo landed, barely a sound, his eyes quickly scanning the place.

"Make me" Leo joked as he took out one of his pistols faster than the surrounding men could react.

"But I'll make you drop dead" Leo smirked as he shot many rounds, and ofcourse, they all hit.

"Go, go, go, we are under attack" a loud yell could be heard as more Hydra agents rushed to their location.

"I'll be going now" Leo suddenly said, as he zoomed out of the room with abnormal speeds.

"What?, how did h-" but before the voice could finish his or her question, an explosion went off within the room, the explosion strong enough to engulf the entire room.

"Sweet" Leo smiled as he sped out of the room and into the hallway.

"Open fire!" a voice yelled as multiple rounds of bullets were fired at the standing Leo.

"I'm fast as fuck" Leo said, as he began dodging and weaving the bullets with ease, shooting multiple rounds of his own, quickly dwindling their numbers.

"Tatical retreat!" a voice yelled, causing the firing of the guns to stop.

"Yeah no" Leo simply said, before zooming towards an agent and shoving a device into his mouth.

"Enjoy" Leo smiled as he tossed the agent towards the retreating ranks of the other agents.

"Now... you go boom" Leo said, as he zoomed past the agents, a little explosion going off in the enclosed space of the hallway.

"I might be addicted to explosions" Leo smiled, as he shot the distant figure of an Hydra agent.

After a few shots to the heads of multiple Hydra agents, Leo finally reached his destination.

"He's here!" a man in a white lab coat yelled, as he saw the approaching figure of Leo.

"Release the subject now!" The man yelled once more.

"Yes sir" a woman in an orange lab coat answered as she entered a few codes in a machine before quickly pressing a red button.

The metal doors of an enclosed room were quickly flung open, a man with brown and green eyes emerging out of it.

"The ultimate weapon... the super soilder!!" the man in a lab coat yelled in happiness, but the happiness only lasted a second as a bullet was lodged into his head, coming out of the other side of his head.

"Doctor!" the woman gasped in horror as the lifeless body of the man dropped to the floor.

"Doc..." the green eyed man muttered as he also saw the dead body of the man drop to the floor, rage evident in his eyes.

"Dang, you sounded like a real mad scientist" Leo complained as his figure entered the room.

"It was you!" The green eyed man bellowed as his two green eyes shot at Leo with killing intent.

"You must be the text subject, it seems they were actually successful, color me surprised" Leo said as he looked at the green eyed man with interest.

"Fuck you!" the man cursed as he stood up and quickly rushed Leo.

"Hold your horses mate" Leo warned as he dodged the incoming fist, but not without feeling the force that it held.

"Dang, you got some enhanced steroids" Leo joked as he caught the fist of the enraged man, not letting the man gather his thoughts, Leo quickly threw him towards his previous awakens spot.

"Now for you" Leo muttered as he pointed his gun at the orange lab coated woman.

"Please don't kill me, I have children!" she yelled, but I wasn't buying it, I can feel it, she has a whole other face she's hiding.

"Lies you tell" Leo said as he pulled the trigger, silencing her.

"Noooo!, Amanda!" The green eyed man yelled in anguish, they definately brainwashed the poor guy.

"Ahhhhh!" He screamed as his body started to peel off and steam, his green eyes turning as black as the darkest of nights, he was no longer human.

[Mission triggered]

[Mission objective: The once human being, as now turned into a disgusting monster than needs to be stopped, kill this wretched monster and free the pained soul of a man]

[Reward: 1.9% BM]

"Nevermind, it seems experiments in this world never go as planned" Leo chuckled as he watched the flesh of the man morph into a Grey metallic color.

"I'll kill you, kill your family, make you suffer, torture you, imprison you, butcher you, ruin you, c-" before he could continue, a bullet was shot at his mouth, which made him hold his mouth with pain.

But in a second his mouth was engulfed in steam and the once busted mouth was as good as new.

"Dang, good regeneration" Leo managed, before having to dodge a quick blow, but he was quickly forced to but a hand infront of his face as the Grey hands of the man now monster punched at his face.

"Nice blow, my turn" Leo said, quickly releasing a quick jab, that sent the monster hurling towards the metallic doors of the room.

"Let's test this" Leo muttered as his hands began to morph from tan skin, too silver colored fur, his nails extending and turning black, in which shined with sharpness.

"Ahhh!" the monster yelled as it stood up and rushed Leo with blinding speeds.

It seems Leo's got a worthy challenge.
