A pair of steely gray eyes—eyes sharp enough to cut through your very soul—bored into her and she did her best not to flinch. She couldn't show how nervous she was; if she did, she would be dead!

"And you're absolutely sure you don't need anything else?" his cold, emotionless voice asked.

"Positive!" she reassured him, expending every ounce of effort not to squeak.

"Alright. Call for me if you change your mind. Enjoy your meal, April."

He turned and left the room and she flopped over in relief. Every interaction with him was a minefield because she was not April Harris. He wasn't aware of this and she knew that the moment he found out the truth, he would kill her.

Her name was Brielle Sharp but she had always gone by Bree. She desperately wished someone, anyone, would call her by her real name but that wasn't going to happen here. Not as long as she was inhabiting April's body.
