บท 174: Real parents?

Elric lay back on her lap and closed his eyes. Evelyn continued stroking his forehead. Peaceful silence surrounded them and the two adored the moment. 

Suddenly, she flinched which made him ask her, "What happened?" 

"I heard something," she said. Her voice lowered indicating the seriousness. 

"Might be some animals," he replied calmly and closed back his eyes. 

She agreed to him but kept glancing in the direction where she heard the noise come from every now and then. Hearing the noise again, she turned in that direction but found nothing. 

Closing her eyes, she calmed herself and kept ignoring the noise. The noise grew louder and louder. Sweat formed on her forehead being scared about the unknown danger. 

"Elric! There is something," she whispered. 

Elric opened his eyes and sat. He glanced in the direction she was looking at. Turning back to her, he said, "For peace of your mind, let me check there and return."
