Russell laid down the magazine he was reading and stared over at his young master, who was sighing nonstop, looking at the horizon in a daze.
His young master was just standing there. His eyes were focused beyond the skyline. His hands were clasped behind his back, and he felt the depressing air emanating from him.
"Young master, is something troubling you?"
Cain didn't respond, eyes not leaving the sky, but his mind was elsewhere.

"I . . . I think . . . I finally felt . . . scared . . . for the first time."
"What?!"
Russell almost fell out from his chair. He shot to his feet and went to his young master's side. His young master's face held a complicated look for the first time –– not the cold, indifferent, nor scary type, but the forlorn kind of type.
